Otsikko: Updating to 2 RC1
Kirjoitti: glennk - helmikuu 06, 2009, 04:13:26 AP
I am thinking of doing it this weekend. One issue springs to mind for me at the moment.

I have some mods/packages installed that dont function and that I cant uninstall.

How can I get around the problems with the packages ? Will the upgrade sort it ? will I need to do a full reinstall, or is there some other way ?

Since you will have to overwrite all of your SMF files to do the upgrade, they should no longer be a problem :)

How do you mean that you have to overwrite all files?

To upgrade to SMF 2.0 RC1, which is a major upgrade, you have to take the files from the SMF 2.0 RC1 large upgrade package and overwrite your current source and theme files.

Once 2.0 goes gold, the normal package updates start

Ive just realised that its highly likely the packages arent available for 2rc1 yet. I might have to wait a while.
