I'm running a new SMF 2 RC1 forum.
The host is in the US, I'm in Denmark.
No matter how I change the forum time and my personal user time, I can't get the "Most online today" to display the right number of visitors.
Is this a known bug?
What would be the correct way to do things?
I'm wondering why when I set the forum to run Copenhagen time and then go into my profile and I tehn have to insert -9 hours to get the correct time.
I don't think theres any known bug with time.
This might be another topic that might be better if we can get it to move to bug reports for a bit of debugging.
I hva a 1.1.8 forum running on the same host and there the time and users today are as they should be.
akyhne, is this issue resolved now?
The forum time that you set it to, is that your current time zone? I usually set it to match my own time zone and don't need to change anything in my profile. Other users may need to change this since they may not be in the same time zone.
The most online today will only show the most users that were online today. This number is not very easy to track unless you just so happen to be online when there is a lot of traffic and you suddenly see the most online today number drop later in the day.
No, it doesn't work. What you suggest is obviously, it just doesn't work.
If i set the forumtime to local time, then clicking the auto detect for my profile, pushed the time 9 hours. If I then save, my forum time is correct, my own time is correct, but online today is even more screwed.
My server is in the US, all my users are in DK.
I think I might have found the error. I'll find out in about 45 minutes.
The only way you can see if this works for sure is to keep track of it for a day or so. See if you can spot the highest number for the day and make sure it doesn't drop until the next day comes around.
Not sure what you will find in the next 45 minutes, but let us know. I hope you are not referring to the online threshold time since that will be different ;)
In 45 minutes the day will change where I live, hence the counter should be reset.
Nope, it didn't help. Can anyone tell me how to set this up?
Am I getting this wrong? Doesn't "Most online users today" show how many people were online during the day, and not how many was online at one time?
Most Online Today reports the most users online "at once" during the day. To see the Users that have been online today you will need the "Users Online Today" mod.
