I have some russians that are spamming my forums but their text is converted to things like ?? ?? ? ?? ?? ?? ? ? ??!. Anyone know how to make it so it stays in russian? I'm really interested in what they are saying :p
If your using latin database the characters which they are using are not supported by your character set, which is why they are appearing as ???.
If you want them to appear as normal then you'll need to change the encoding of your database to utf8.
Admin > Forum Maintenance.
Note this cannot be undone. Backup first!
