Title: How can I hide a category from everybody?

Including guests, normal members, and staff members, excluding admins?

I don't want to take all the boards out of the category, but I don't want the category to show either.

What I basically did was untick access rights for every forum in it, but the placeholder still remains.

can you place it in its own category?

Unless you have some other mod, if you remove all boards from a category from view.  Then it shouldn't show to those that can't see any of the boards below it.
