Otsikko: SMF 2.0 crashed hosting server and don't know why...
Kirjoitti: rhynes - helmikuu 25, 2009, 06:28:13 IP
Got this across the top of my forum now after my forum crashed my host server:

$ssi_db_user = ''; $cachedir = '/home/"pathtodirectory"/cache'; ?>

Anyone know how to fix this?

I don't know what happened with the forum but this is the first time in 2 years with this host that they had to take my chat site offline. I did database checks, file checks, checked all the logs but there's no indication as to why this happened.

Your Settings.php file got messed up. If you have a file in your forum directory called "Settings_bak.php", delete Settings.php and rename "Settings_bak.php" to "Settings.php". Otherwise, you'll need to fix it manually.

That didn't fix it - this is annoying, nothing has changed in my forum at all...

any other ideas?

Do you still have the text at the top of your forum?  What Oldiesmann suggested normally fixes the problem.  Did anything change when you replaced the Settings.php file with the Settings_bak.php file?
