hey is there a way to have url rewrites for smf (like permalinks on wordpress) so links like this:

Lainaahttp://domain.com/forum/index.php?topic=123

or

http://domain.com/forum/index.php?topic=123.msg123#new

or

http://domain.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=123

or

http://domain.com/forum/index.php?board=123.0

look like this:

Lainaahttp://domain.com/forum/topic/123

or

http://domain.com/forum/topic/123/reply/123

or

http://domain.com/forum/profile/123

or

http://domain.com/forum/board/123

just found this mod it might be what i'm looking for but can anyone answer my question before i test this?

make sure mod_rewrite in your server is ON before installing this mod

you can find in .htaccess file, if not find, you must 'show hidden' in your file manager

Did you get the mod installed?  There are lots of folks that use that mod as I am not aware of an easier method to accomplish what you are asking.  Let us know how it goes.
