Is this issue resolved now? If not, what theme is that you are using? Give us a link to the theme.
From the looks of it, the following should do what you need. Open up index.template.php:
<h1><img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/logo.jpg" alt="logo" /></h1>
<h1><a href="http://www.yoursite.com"><img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/logo.jpg" alt="logo" /></a></h1>
Replace www.yoursite.com with the site you want. See if that does what you need.
