hey folks...
i changed hosting companies last night and made a clone of my forum (files and database) and uploaded the whole thing to the new server, restored the database, and ran repairsettings.php.
my problem is the attachments and avatars are not displaying. i checked repairsettings once again and everything appears to be configured correctly. the files structure is the same.
i have been told it could be due to DNS not being finished propagating. is this true and what else can i check to resolve this matter?
SMF2.0RC1

If you can access the forum, then DNS has propogated. Have you checked your Server Settings within Admin, also your Avatars and Attachment path settings in Admin?
yes, everything appears to be proper. i will double check (for the 18th time) ;)
the paths and such all seem to be correct
So check...
Server Settings
Avatar Settings
Attachment Settings
I'm unsure why SMF doesn't use one single primary root server path, then you would only have to change it once, unless v2.0 has been changed along these lines?
everything appears to be exactly the same, just changed for the other server.
And whats the error you're getting? Right click an Avatar that you've got issues with and see if the path looks right?
my avatar...

random attachment

clicking the linked image title gives a 404 not found or allows you to download the attachment and view it locally (but doesn't display it inline like it should)
also, my attachments and avatars are both stored in /forum/attachments and i do use encrypted filenames.
Any update on this issue timned88?
it's been resolved. i found that FTP clients can only display 2,000 files at a time.
once i found a work around for that, the problem was alleviated. sorry i forgot to come back and update this thread.
