Hi ho,
Im wanting to upgrade my forum from 1.1.8 to 2.0 RC1, modifcations currently in use are below. Should I have any trouble? Which method is the quickest pain free one?
1. vReportBoard Mod 1.04
2. Modbreaktag 1.0
3. MCLegendII.2 3.0
4. SMF 1.0.16 / 1.1.8 Update 1.0
5. AJAX Instant Quick Reply 1.0.1
6. Anti-Bot Registration Puzzles 1.2
7. Look But No Read 1.3
See: Upgrade SMF (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?board=3.0;sort=subject)
Note: All modifications / custom templates (themes) will be lost during the transition :)

And in addition don''t forget to make a thorough backup of your db before you upgrade, just in case ;)
The "Before you upgrade (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=12.0)" section of the "Upgrading SMF" doc states that ;)
LainaaIt is absolutely imperative that you make a COMPLETE backup of the Forum you are upgrading prior to starting. This means all the of the files in your "forum" directory (or similar, download them to your computer if needs be or move them to a backup directory) and the database itself. A database backup can be made in the Administration Panel under Forum Maintenance.

That is right, but most people don''t read the docs or don''t bother to read them in details. How many cases have we seen here that people upgrade to the 2.0 version without backing up their databases first? So there is no harm on a double sure post reminding them ;)
Agreed :)

Will the webinstall.php upgrade my forum from smf1.1.8 to smf2.0. I am thinking on giving this a try.
and of course with backup created.
krak
@Relemar - Did you get the upgrade done?
@krakmind - I can't recommend using Webinstall. Download the large upgrade package and follow the instructions already linked to in order to upgrade your forum. And remember, backup everything before you do anything.
Relemar, is this issue resolved now? We haven't heard any updates on this issue from you.
I'll mark this as solved, feel free to reply if you require additional assistance :)
