Otsikko: getting the KEY STATS box to show the real stats
Kirjoitti: anunlike - maaliskuu 04, 2005, 01:08:55 IP
Hi.

My apologies if this was covered somewhere else, I searched for it but didn't find anything specific concerning this.

I, and others who've been helping me out, have made posts that I've subsequently deleted. The posts were, basically, for testing various things.

So, it shows up in the KEY STATS box as 41 posts in 40 topics, but I, the administrator, actually have 21 posts and I've deleted all the other posts. So, there are actually only 21 posts in however many topics (not sure, right off hand).

I've went to the "Forum Maintanance" page, clicked on "Recount all forum totals and statistics.", but that doesn't do anything. I am a newbie, so I'd very much appreciate it if I could get some answers to these questions:

1)  Is there a way to somehow recount and/or make these stats in the KEY STATS box accurately reflect the actual stats?

2) If so, how?

Thanks much.

Do you mean that you have deleted the post/topics and they nolonger display in the keystats area?

No. I've deleted the post/topics and the issue is is that they are showing up in the KEY STATS box. I'm hoping that I can get it so that the deleted posts/topics (all of them) are not reflected in the box.

Maybe this will help clarify:
There are, after creating 41 posts in 40 topics and then deleting all but 21 posts (in however many topics), the 21 actual posts left. I am the only member with any posts/topics since I've deleted all the test posts/topics that I and others have made.

My post count = 21 as I only have 21 posts there. Even though I've created and deleted the ones that were used for testing purposes, the count remains at 21.
The same is applied to the other members that have been helping me. They may have posted say, 6 times, but their post count = 0, as I've deleted the posts that were used for testing purposes.

So, my question is:
Is there a way to get the KEY STATS box to accurately reflect the actual (current) cumulative post/topic count of all the members? Instead of showing the post/topic count of all posts/topics that have ever been made (the 41 and however many topics), can I get it to reflect the actual (current) cumulative post/topic count of all members (the 21 and however many topics)?

I'd guess they're in the recycle bin board.  The key stats section is always the most correct count of all the posts on your forum; adding up the "posts" columns of each member would not only be slow, but would also be less accurate.

Have you installed any mods?  If you click "show the last posts of this person", do you see more than 21?

Yes, they were in my recycle bin board. I completely forgot that I set that up to put them in there automatically.

It seemed odd to me that it didn't appear to be the most correct count.

Like I said, I'm a newbie.  :-X

Thanks for the help!
