Title: Simple Image Upload
Post by: Sium on March 02, 2009, 12:01:05 PM
Link to Mod (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1669)

This is a very simple alternative to attachment mod. It works only with images and allows users to quickly add images to posts. All images are stored on third party image hosting service and bbcode for images is automatically inserted in posts when users upload images. Thumbnails are automatically created on image hosting server. This mod is very easy to install and very easy to use.

More options and language settings are available here: http://imgbb.com/mod (http://imgbb.com/mod)

Powered by Image Hosting (http://imgbb.com/)

It doesnt work on my site, after uploading, it has redirect error.

The requested URL /forum/suara-warga/tampilan-and-tulisan-binprof-kekecilan/addform.html was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I think you did like me, you manually installed the mod and forgot to upload from the mods zip file the addform.html file to forums directory (route directory of the forum, not in themes or anything else!)

make  these directories under forum directory:
suara-warga/tampilan-and-tulisan-binprof-kekecilan/
and put in the las one the html file :)

Sium,

One issue with dumb users. They upload their latest photo from their super-gigapixel camera and although the thumbnail is great, when you click on it the image host service downloads the entire image before resizing to fit the screen. Even with broadband this can impact on user experience.  I've asked my users to resize before they post (but its too complicated for their non-technical brains!) so is there an alternative?

Is there any way of auto resizing on upload - say 1024 wide? or getting the image host to only download a medium sized image rather than the main file?

Just a thought...great mod

I didn't see an upgrade to the mod so checked your image link which loaded up in scaled size. Went back to my forum and tried some super large images that had already been uploaded and they go straight to the reduced scale image too.

I assume you have fixed this from the image host end without any need for mod upgrade. If so - fantastic! Thanks Sium.

Best forum image upload solution out there

Having used this great mod for a few weeks, really impressed. Users love it.

One member in Mynamar (Burma) reports that the Government there has blocked the local ISPs from accessing the postimage.org hosting service so the images don't appear at all. Something to do with restrictions on images that they don't want there population to see.

Shame, but not much you or I can do about that.

Title: Re: Simple Image Upload
Post by: willerby on March 28, 2009, 12:59:02 PM
1. When they post a new topic or reply users will now see this little bit of text...

2. When users want to insert an image that is stored on their computer, they click this link, a popup will appear where they can select the image from their folders and add a description to that image (the description is optional):

3. They click "upload it", the image is uploaded and is automatically inserted in their post (it may appear as a code link but when they post it will show as an image)

4. They click "submit" to submit post and a thumbnail of the image appears in the post.

Best of all, they don't have to resize their image as its not hosted on your server but someone elses and its automatically resized for viewing.

The effect is a medium sized thumbnail appears in the post with a 'plus' sign on it to encourage users to click to enlarge. The postimage hosting service then opens up and resizes the image to fit their screen size - they can enlarge to original size from there if they wish.

Simple tool. My users love it (but they're generally older less techy guys)

it does sound great.. My only concern is that I have noticed that quite often 3rd party hosts arent too reliable and I end up with red x's from images that were deleted by the user or arent showing because of bandwidth quotas or whatever.

Is there anyway to make this mod so that the users images are uploaded to my server? Id rather host all the images and know they are going to be there for years to come as some of the posts on my site would be useless without their images.

Hello....newbie here...

I just uploaded the simple image mod and everything tested fine.  But it is not showing up when we go to post.  I wanted to manually install it and it looks sooo simple, however i'm afraid to play around with codes being so new, i'm afraid i'm gonna crash my site ( i did this once before installing a mod..lol)

So when i go into the post.template.php in my theme i can not find out where i am supposed to put the code for the mod.

if anyone could help i would appreciate it!!

I had two of the links that says "Add Image to Post". So I uninstalled the Mod to install it again to see if the double link would dissapear.  But even though I uninstalled the mod completely using the cpanel, the "Add Image to Post" link is still showing.  If I removed completely the Mod on the cpanel I don't understan why the link is still there.
I don't want to install it again until I remove this link.  See below.

I cannot get SIU to install, it reports that it is corrupted or not compatible with SMF. I've just upgraded to  SMF 1.1.10, and wonder whether the new version number is an issue? I don't know how the version check is done, but in an alpha comparison 1.1.10 is not greater than 1.1.8

I've had a go at hacking the XML file to see if I can get it to work, but no dice.

Has anyone come across this issue, or got a suggestion on how to progress this?

Thanks in advance,

Title: Re: Simple Image Upload

I managed to get it working again. I uninstalled the update that took me from 1.1.9 to 1.1.10 and reinstalled the mod, then updated again to 1.1.10

so far it's working. I don't know what caused it to disappear to begin with unless I inadvertanly uninstalled it while cleaning out unused mods the other day.

so for now, I have it working

yay!

Found out what the problem is... It wasn't my forum nor the mod! It was just probably because imageshack is blocked in mainland China (not even using Tor or other kind of anonymity software I could upload images using this mod) As soon as I tried it in Macao, it worked. Although not always (as sometimes I'd still get the blank page)!

Thanks for the mod.

Also, I notice no has offered a way of using this system to upload to their another or own server where it can be properly controlled.

This gets wierder, aoife, as now I find it works better if I use it directly instead of using my account. The problem there is the pictures presumably go into the public domain which isn't good if the pics are personal.

In order to upload pics to your own server, you must have image hosting software installed such as Coppermine or Gallery2.  Both have mods for bridges to SMF.  SMF - Gallery2 mod includes a button to add a pic from the gallery to a post which is cool.  Coppermine does not, but there is a manual code change to add this in the Coppermine mod discussion.  I haven't decided yet which one to use  :-\

A feature that I would find useful is the ability to turn on or off this feature by the amount of posts that a user has, so if a user has already created 25 posts then this would show up to them, if not then they would Not see it.  Why?  Because it's just one more easy step for spammer to invade our forums and add their spam ads and even host them on another server.  So limiting it by post count would at least eliminate most spammers since on our forums they rarely get in more than 2 posts before they are caught.

However....  We do use the garbled url protection so maybe that will do okay and just garble the urls anyway.  So, if so, never mind.  Keep moving, nothing to see here. LOL.

I implemented something very like this - the Upload image link only shows to users in particular membergroups. See this thread (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=329800.msg2202689#msg2202689) for discussion of this.

Hate to say it but I agree. It's so unreliable. Are there any other hosting services you could link it to, Sium?

I know there is an all-singing all-dancing version available from SMF Mods but it won't accept images for a ahem mature audience.

Hi Sium,

One of the images on our forum of a landscape has suddenly been removed by the host and another which I posted has been replaced by something totally inappropriate in that we are an adult site but the replacement picture although perfectly acceptable for family viewing is forbidden by any responsibly run mature forum here in the UK.

Hi,

I'm using "Simple Image Upload" MOD and I have problems. A few days ago I upload one picture with size 640x480, because that size is good for my forum. Today I'm trying to upload the same picture form my computer, I'm resizing the picture again to 640x480 and the result is small picture, which needs to be clicked to view the big picture which size is 640x480.

I'm attaching the situation and the source for both images is

Can someone help with that?

It's very useful MOD for me and the members in my forum. That's why I want to fix that problem. The size 640x480 is compatible with my forums theme and looks good.

Resizing is not working, just small thumbnails posted on my forum.

This service has been a bit flaky at times but always gets fixed, however this time the problem remains longer than I would have liked.

Is there a fix to this please?

Is it something I've done why only thumbnails are posted rather than resized images?

Last week has been all trouble with this mod, first disappearing images and now lots and lots of sex videos and sex images above the pictures. I removed it today, my members were very offended.

Shame, it has worked fine for us before this  :(
Title: Re: Simple Image Upload
Post by: City Builder on November 30, 2009, 09:11:14 PM
When I first tried this it was extremely unreliable.  However as of late it's been working great for us.  I've not seen these adverts for sex images or videos when i view images that we uploaded to the site but maybe that is because we always check mark the family safe button instead of the adult content button or leaving both unchecked.  I don't know if that causes the adverts or not but none are showing for us when we view the images we have stored on their servers.

The moment somebody reports sexual content on the same display as the images they view that people post to our gaming website is the moment it is removed from our site.  We have a family safe and family fun gaming site and that sort of thing can't be tolerated when dealing with children as a small percentage of our members.

Thanks for revealing what you've found, I'll certainly be keeping an eye on them to watch for any adult oriented stuff and remove this mod if that is the case.

Post by: Astra_200 on December 01, 2009, 07:30:25 AM
City Builder, are your images resized properly or are you seeing just thumbnails which you have to click to see larger pics in new window?

Maybe the way it works has changed, we used to be able to rezise the image on upload and it would show the pic size you selected on the thread itself rather than just the thumbnail??

No problems with adult stuff appearing or missing images here though. That is not good for family sites.

I have emailed Postimage, no reply.
Title: Re: Simple Image Upload
Post by: City Builder on December 01, 2009, 07:58:32 AM
Well, I've just always assumed that the only way it works is that they give the code for a clickable thumbnail as when I choose the option to resize, they do resize it, but it still displays a thumbnail image on my forum that is clickable to a resized image.  Seems that it resizes the images properly though when I view the clicked full size image.

I was unaware that it was supposed to actually display the resized image in my forum message, just thought it should alwasy be a thumbnail as that's what I always choose when ever I post to other peoples forums and am going to post an image from places like photobucket or that other site that the name eludes me for the moment.

Hmmm thats interesting, up until about 3 weeks ago the size that members chose to upload appeared directly on the forum in that size, I usually advised members to use 640 x480 (For message boards)

Now I'm confused. especially with over 5000 downloads of this mod, I was expecting a few more posts like mine to show up.
It looks like Star Hawks post above highlights what I'm saying.

Can somebody please confirm what this mod is supposed to do, and has it changed its operation in the last few weeks? All the research I have done seems to point to thumbnails only, but I can assure you we were posting resized images direct on to the forum

PS City Builder, were you thinking of Flickr?

Post by: City Builder on December 01, 2009, 01:25:30 PM
No, it was imageshack.  But I almost completely stopped using them when they turned to pop under ad windows.  Now I might use them only once in 1000
Title: Re: Simple Image Upload
Post by: TomW on December 02, 2009, 03:16:40 PM
This mod originally hosted images on the PostImage servers, and later the code was modified to use ImagShack for non-adult images.  In that case, the SMF posts had a url link to Postimage, which in turn linked to ImageShack.  Too many hops IMO; I am migrating to an image hosting service on my own servers (either SMF Media Gallery or Gallery2).  This eliminates the problem of someone else's server crashing or the servers purging the images for reasons unknown.

I used this mod on my forum as it was very simple to upload images for the technically disadvantaged.  However the servers haven't been reliable enough, plus several of the images are GONE, even though the thumbnails are still there.  Therefore I turned off this feature.  Now, each day, I manually move a few images from PostImage servers that still exist.  For images that no longer exist, I e-mail the forum member and request that they e-mail me their files.  Eventually all will be moved to a stable environment.  Lesson learned !

For some while now, this Mod has been working like a dream. We've somehow become tagged onto the French version but if that's what it takes for it to be stable then fine.

O:)

funny that simple machines here doesn't have this particular mod up.  it would be faster...

if you can simple machines could you buy the company in question, they've just made some money.

Yes SMF does need a better system, they do seem to be lagging behind with 'image management' than several other forums. Good/proper/simple image posting and management is a MUST in this day and age.

I can click on the link it has to post the images and that's fine. It opens the window where the images are held. However, when I click on an image I just get an error 404. This mod used to work great, not sure why it stopped working. To get around I right click the image and copy the location then manually post the pic on the post. I liked it when you could just click on it.

I use a combination of ...

Resize Attached Images (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2206)

... a great mod that keeps attached images to a manageable file size and stops all the errors when users try to upload 5MB digital camera images

and

Simple ImageShack Upload Box (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2410)

... modified to provide some text instructions to my neanderthal users. Fairly simple code edits to get it to look like the attachmemt below

I find ImageShack ok but I'd prefer a flickr or photobucket mod.

The code edit to insert into post.template is below. Experiment with positioning somewhere just before or after

A separate window will open the Imageshack website where your image will be displayed.<br />&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 3. Click in the box under the image marked <strong>Forum Code</strong> and <strong>Copy</strong> this code.<br />&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp 4. Switch back to this New Message or New Reply window and <strong>Paste</strong> the code into your post above.<br />

Simple Image Upload does not work with SimpleSEF. As noted above, with PrettyURL too.
To correct interaction with SimpleSEF, you must

found in the file Themes/default/GenericControls.template.php string containing postimage.org.
In this string should be replaced
escape (document.location.href)
on
escape (\''. $ scripturl. '? topic ='. $ context ['current_topic']. '.0 \')

Possibly this may help and with PrettyURL

I check and addform.html is on forum root directory, I don't have Pretty url and SEF url installed(I had installed this mods but I've uninstall them without errors).
Have someone a solution for this 404 error or isn't compatible with RC5 ?...it upload the image but after redirect I get 404 not found.

In RC4 this messes up the areas of the forum where you try to select a username by typing it in and having the server bring up the possible list of names you are trying to find in your memberbase, like typing in a name for sending mail etc.

At least it does on mine.  It basically prevents that from working.

Any clues how to fix this problem?

Nice mod m8

I used the manual option

Though when uploading an image and leaving it on "do not resize" when inserted the image actually gets resized to thumbnail size for some reason!!
Title: Re: Simple Image Upload
Post by: City Builder on May 19, 2011, 02:43:47 PM
I think the do no resize, actually means do not resize the image on the server.

I'm using chrome, and I've tried it in Internet Explorer 8 as well, and the (I guess javascript) function to add a persons name to a PM or the like just doesn't work anymore if I leave this in place.

Sorry, I'm not sure what I would actually take a screenshot of,

I normally use the following type of coding for banner images throughout my forum...

<a href="http://www.mysite.com"><img src="http://www.mysite.com/images/myimage.jpg" alt="My Banner" title="My Banner" /></a>

However it now appears follows when viewed...

[img alt=My Banner" title="My Banner]http://www.mysite.com/images/myimage.jpg[/img]

This has happened across the site since installing this mod and still happens when I uninstall it.

Any ideas how to fix it?

I like this mod! But I prefer the old method was used by v1.1.0 by modifying generictemplate.php

I added a second hoster - okay, that one does not allow to put the links automatically in the textarea, but: It's a second hoster.

<div>
&nbsp;&bull;&nbsp;<a href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="window.open(\'http://www.postimage.org/index.php?mode=smf&amp;lang=german&amp;forumurl=\' + escape(document.location.href), \'_imagehost\', \'resizable=yes,width=500,height=400\');return false;">Bild hinzuf&#252;gen (postimage.org)</a><br />&nbsp;&bull;&nbsp;<a href="javascript:void(0);" onclick="window.open(\'http://www.bilder-hochladen.net/index.php?mode=smf&amp;forumurl=\' + escape(document.location.href), \'_imagehost\', \'resizable=yes,width=850,height=700\');return false;">Bild hinzuf&#252;gen (bilder-hochladen.net)</a><br /><br />
<textarea class="editor" name="', $editor_id, '" id="', $editor_id, '" rows="', $editor_context['rows'], '" cols="600" onselect="storeCaret(this);" onclick="storeCaret(this);" onkeyup="storeCaret(this);" onchange="storeCaret(this);" tabindex="', $context['tabindex']++, '" style="height: ', $editor_context['height'], '; ', isset($context['post_error']['no_message']) || isset($context['post_error']['long_message']) ? 'border: 1px solid red;' : '', '">', $editor_context['value'], '</textarea>

Did anyone get this to work with the WYSIWYG editor from SMF 2.0? It does not work at the forum I administrate, and switching back and forth between editors is hardly an elegant solution.

Also, may I suggest using addLoadEvent() instead of overloading window.onload? The latter breaks a few features (such as PM popup notifications) and some other extensions.

postimage.org still works fine - it is used very often by our members.
The link is directly placed into the post-area (below the smiley bar) - okay - and tinypic...

All runs fine - now my question:
I implemented a few days ago a shoutbox  - I also want to place a link to postimage.org, so member can share pictures when chatting more easy
only thing - I don't need the [img][/img] tags, also I've no luck that the code is automaticaly inserted into the shoutbox message field (name of shoutbox field=Shoutbox_message)

i guess I need a 2nd addform.html...

How do I have to modify this new addform.html that I will work with the shoutbox?

cheers, inti31

the temp solution at time is another picture hoster (pic-upload.de) which runs in an iframe

Resizing photos does not work on my forum, thumbnails are always posted.

Also, uploading multiple photos doesn't work.

If I upload a single photo, it will be posted on the thread but it only shows as a thumbnail (users has to click it in order to view the whole image)

I tried send an email to postimage.org 2 weeks ago but until now I haven't received any reply.

Any help on this?

this is from the old faq - and still valid, I guess

Quote
You can upload unlimited images per post will never have to worry about your images being removed for inactivity. Images will always be shown as thumbnails; you cannot add full image to your post. This image hosting service is meant to be used only for forum posts, you cannot host your avatars, smilies, rank images and other images that require hotlinking because hotlinking of full image is not allowed.

Only thing you could do:
login/register to postimage.org (it just needs a username and an email-address, no activation is required).
Create a gallery, upload your pics and then use the directlinks and copy & paste them.

There is a workaround for the thumbnail...

1. host the pic with Simple Image which then inserts the code into your post

2. click Preview then click onto the thumbnail which will open another window showing the pic full size

3. right click upon that pic then go to Properties and copy the URL

4. remove the thumbnail then paste the URL into your post between img tags.

5. Click Post

it does sound great..

I agree would like to see some way to upload files on to my own server.

If someone wanted to host there own images but use the same type of script, what would we need on the server side. I am going National for a specific reason and community and need to host the images on my own server. I love the simplicity of the mod, but would prefer to use my databases.

When I first installed the mod, the thing that bugged me was the "Image content" choice that the user had to make - between Adult and Famiy friendly content. For me everything was and is perfect about this mod, except for that choice. Couldn't 'Family' be the default choice? Then I googled around and lo and behold, this webpage solves it for me!
h t t p : / / p o s t i m a g e . o r g / m o d . p h p

After you set the selection list item to "Family", click on the Download button. The zip file will download. Use that zip file as your mod.

Hi All

I wonder if someone could shed some light on this. I noticed that after installing the mod, it works with my default theme which is
"SMF Default Theme - Curve". However when I change my theme to the "Love theme" I  no longer see the "Add Image to Post" text link (the PostImage link just below the Smiley row).

So I did some sleuthing and discovered that if I just add this section of code (see below)

<script type="text/javascript" src="http://mod.postimage.org/smf-english-family.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

to /public_html/forums/Themes/LoveTheme/index.template.php

then the "Add Image to Post" text link appears when I use the Love theme.

My question is: HOW can I install the mod and make sure that the non-default mods will automatically see the "Add Image to Post" text link?

I'll second that! i would like to see something like this upload to the server itself...

I'll third that :)

Maybe I can help with this. I had the  same issue and it was the result of me not selecting the option of using it for different themes. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and there is an option to select all the themes you are using. It worked fine after that.

I tried to edit as stated in the link but I do not understand this section
File Operations
Move the included file "imgbb.js" to "./Themes/default/scripts".

May be it is common to every mod but I am not computer expert. please explain more or it is just a note to admin

I discovered that the file download at the site h t t p : / / p o s t i m a g e . o r g / m o d . p h p
no longer works.  When you click the Download button a server ginx error occurs. Bummer!

So you are no longer able to download the file siu_smf_english_family.zip.
Never fear! I have uploaded the file to my own server. You can download it from  h t t p : / / b i t . l y / 2 j u T C 3 n

Hope this helps,

I just downloaded the imgbb.com/mod from the imgbb.com site and then installed it in my SMF 2.0.13 forum. It installed fine, no errors. Here is what I have found out after asking about the mod.

I found out the MOD works for at least two of my members. They both see the link and have uploaded photos. Works slick as can be.

I installed the imgbb/mod and it loaded fine, no errors but I could not find the link to upload the photos. I assumed the MOD was not working. Jon, one of my members, has uploaded several photos without a hitch. Another member who is in Italy on vacation sees the link and has uploaded 4 photos using his smart phone.

I can not see the link on my HP desktop running Windows 7 Pro with Firefox, or Safari or IE browsers, I then tried my android smart phone with Chrome, Firefox and the android browser can't see the link. Tried my ASUS tablet with Chrome and Firefox and can't see the link. Last thing I tried is my wife's laptop with IE and Firefox and I can't see the link.

Then I decided the problem is with my normal Admin login so I used a test login that has regular member permissions and I still can not see the link! Beginning to think I am going crazy!

This is stupid but it does not show up on a new topic or a reply or in a PM (does for the other two members). What could be causing this problem.

Thanks
Dennis

I think so but I just created a new test membership with regular member permissions and when I use this login I can see the upload link and the MOD works perfectly. Since the other person that can not see the upload link is one of my Admin and has the same Admin permissions as I do I suspect the problem is associated with our Admin profiles but that is strange. I did just look through my profile to see if there was anything set that might possibly be associated with the problem and I saw nothing.
Thanks

During installation there's a checkbox (or multiple checkboxes) that allows you to apply theme-related changes to your other theme(s).

It's easy to overlook those additional bits.

I have installed this Mod and the two testing posts i made were fine.

I had downloaded their Mod with Family Safe and Full Image, and everything is correct, the link to Inserte An Image it's shown as Shambles has posted some replies above.

I'd open an account with them, but i can figure my members should do the same if they want their pictures at hand and organized, instead to upload them anonymously.

For this, what i didn't found is where that "Insert An Image" code is placed, to add some piece of additional text advicing to create an account with them.

I have added that suggestion to the tutorial i made about everything to create a Topic or Reply.... but as you all know, 1% of users read those tutorials :D

Great Mod for non expertise users... Thanks :)

Hi,

I've just installed this MOD and I fixed this problem by editing the MOD myself. It is really simple:

1. Go to your server and open this file: FORUM_ROOT_FOLDER/Themes/default/scripts/imgbb.js
2. Search for the string "<br />". You should find it around this code:

... imgbb_text.replace(new RegExp("\n",'g'),"<br />")) ...

3. Replace the "<br />" by "\n". It should look like this after the change:

... imgbb_text.replace(new RegExp("\n",'g'),"\n")) ...

4. Save the file and this issue should be fixed.

looking at installing this mod, but I foresee issues.

The biggest issue that I see, right out of the gate (aside form the BR to \n change required and detailed above) is that this mod installs the javascript call into index.template.php...

This means that the javascript is called on EVERY PAGE.
This is improper, IMO... it should only be called on the Post.template and the Display.template pages, because those are the only pages it would be used on...

I love this mod! but only i have two things that i don't like from this mod:

1: Every time I put an image in the post, this text "<br />" appears on both sides of the image, so i need to delete everytime that i post a image that text.

Example:

2: The images are shortened, and small, so are not showed completely, and the gifs uploadeds are not animated, for watching the entire image and the gifs with movement you need to click the image, and that's for me the worst thing, so if you can, fix this.

Anyway, this is a great mod, and helps very much, so i wish you luck!

Well, given that the mod authors never repsonded to my concern, here or on their own site...

the index.template.php code add should be corrected

this is what the code should look like after adjustment...

if ($context['current_action'] == 'post') {
  echo '
    <script type="text/javascript" async src="Themes/default/scripts/imgbb.js" charset="utf-8"></script>';
  }
  echo '
</body></html>';

this way, the image javascript is ONLY loaded on the post page - not on every page load.

Incidentally, Andreso -- the <br /> statement added will properly parse as a new line when posted, if you have "allow basic html" in your post settings.
Otherwise, you can open the javascript file imgbb.js in Themes/default/scripts and delete the <br /> (leaving just "". This will stop the insert from adding a newline around each image.

@Kandred but you don't explained me my second problem, and for me the most annoying, the image cut and gifs without movement, why i need to click the image and open it in a new tab to see it complete? and if is a gif i need to click it and open it in a new tab for see the movement, this addon is great but has that problem that constantly annoys me :-\

Was considering dumping the Imagepost mod for this Imgbb mod instead.
Installed Imagepost about a year ago and its worked okay up until now.

I recently experienced the .org to .cc change...which caused a small disruption with my member's posts.
I used the censored words fix to resolve the problem (without having to update every post on my site)
but some members used thumbnail posts and the links to the remote images don't work any more.
There are too many images/posts to fix...so this is frustrating.

And, I have read more than once, that Imagepost is "unreliable" and I am afraid this problem won't be our last.

Do you recommend I dump Imagepost for Imgbb?
Any word on whether the Imgbbmod has been fixed/updated to resolve the issues talked about here??

After reading this thread, I am now concerned about the Imgbb mod...I don't want to deal with having to remove <br code thingies
or modify files on the server, or fix javascript problems or anything like that.
I just want something easy for my members to  post images in their posts without me having to host those images

According to JS file, uploaded image result should be hotlinked image file, but since that does not happen I think that they (imgbb.com) changed how script works on their end and hotlinking is disabled.

Hi!  I'm new.  So this corrected code you wrote down....am I able to edit this or were you just writing down what it should be for the author of this mod?    If it's editable by the user (me), I'd like to change it to yours so it doesn't do what you said (only loads on the post page not on every page load).

Thanks

After you install the mod you can manually change the code to match what I wrote

Does anyone know how to replace the dot before "Add image to post" in the code with an icon for this service?

Does not work on SMF 2.1, is there a solution?

Insert the code into index.template.php before </head> and the mode will work.

<script async type="text/javascript" src="//mod.imgbb.com/website-hotlink.js" charset="utf-8"></script>

Hi. The https://custom.simplemachines.org/index.php?mod=1669 mod now shows me only square thumbnails in the new images uploaded by users and https://imgbb.com/mod does not generate the mod, the website tells me "request denied".  Any ideas or other simple alternative for users? Greetings and thanks.

Yes, me too. This mod was very popular with my users. Would like to get it working again after upgrading to 2.1.1 - Thanks in anticipation!

Not work on smf 2.1.3.

This mod works properly on SMF 2.1.3

You can download this mod on this page:

https://imgbb.com/mod

But unfortunately, the download on this page has not been working for several days. I reported this issue to imgbb and got no response. There is no support for imgbb users. It's really nasty.

the mod might not support php 8.1, which I believe is your version...

However. Marina3 ---    your "reports" are, for the most part, useless.   Saying "Not work on smf 2.1.3." doesn;t give ANY context.

For *EACH* report of a failure, you need to specify your SMF version, PHP version, mod version and WHAT the actual failure is.

The download is already working on the imgbb website.

Solution:

Find code:

imgbb_bullet.setAttribute('class',"imgbb_bullet");imgbb_bullet.innerHTML="&#160;&#8226;&#160;"
Replace with this code:

imgbb_bullet.setAttribute('class',"imgbb_bullet");imgbb_bullet.innerHTML="<img src='https://simgbb.com/images/favicon.png'width='16'height='16'>&nbsp;"

SMF 2.1.4., it uploads only thumbnails 180x180, I don't see a possibility to change this behavior.
