Our site is on smf 2.0 Beta 3.1 public......can anyone tell me where to find the settings to change the display of member's attachments/siggies to only be shown once on each thread page, rather than on every post??

Code changes will be required, perhaps, a mod? Try the Mod Requests (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?board=79.0) board.
There's no option to do this in SMF by default.
