I understand that we cannot remove any of the copyright info or the credits (wouldnt want to).
However what I would like to do is replace a link in the user help section:
Currently reads:
So you've arrived at this Simple Machines Forum (SMF)! Perhaps you've been looking at the board index or a screen telling you that you need to register before you can read it and you're wondering what to do next?
I would like to be able to change where it says Simple Machines Forum (SMF) to have our forum name and link back to our forum home page.
Is this possible? If so, where do I find the file that contains this info?
Using SMF 2 RC1, 3Column Theme, No mods.
Thanks much!
Hello.
You can edit Manual.english.php in ./Themes/default/languages/
Thank you Nas.
Could you (or anyone)confirm the way I would change this:
// Entries for template: index.
$txt['manual_index_you_have_arrived_part1'] = 'So you\'ve arrived at this ';
$txt['manual_index_you_have_arrived_link_site0'] = 'Simple Machines Forum';
$txt['manual_index_you_have_arrived_part2'] = ' (SMF)! Perhaps you\'ve been looking at the ';
To remove the:
So you've arrived at this Simple Machines Forum (SMF)!
Would I remove the entire statement of:
$txt['manual_index_you_have_arrived_part1'] = 'So you\'ve arrived at this ';
$txt['manual_index_you_have_arrived_link_site0'] = 'Simple Machines Forum';
How would I go about changing the link, instead of just removing it?
Thanks again for any help!
I hate to 'bump" this, but dont want to go making a change that will mess things up.
Thanks again.
Have you taken a look at the Help.template.php file as well?
Actually, I was able to edit >>>>> Manual.english.php in >>>/Themes/default/languages/
Just a reminder for any one else doing this: If you ADD a new index, you need to change the template to use it.....make sure to clear the file cache if you're using SMF 2.0 or the changes won't take effect...
