Do you mean a drop down menu? Such as the one used on this site? drop down menu mod (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1508)
I've also done drops for the SMF 2 default. There's a tutorial here (http://portamx.com/index.php?topic=369.0) and I can transfer the content to the Tips and Tricks drop menu thread if anyone's interested.
I also did a Babylon style drop menu for the default that uses buttons for the toolbar. That was for 1.1.x but could be converted to RC1 very easily. http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=288919.msg1903911#msg1903911
