Otsikko: Issues with registering and PMing
Kirjoitti: Talarin - maaliskuu 12, 2005, 08:10:47 AP
I just installed SMF last week.  Everything went pretty smoothly but I'm having issues with the registering process and PMing.  When a new member fills out the registration information and hits submit, the page acts like its loading for about 30 sec and then displays a white screen.  The registration process was successful and if they just log back on the forums and log in with their info it works fine, it just won't display the registration complete screen.

Same with PMing.  When you hit the send button, it acts like its loading and then just displays a white screen.  The PM was sent though.

Any ideas as to why this is happening?

Thanks :)

Default Theme?
Default Languages?

Sounds like a theme or language problem, also does it have something like action=pm but has an extra digit or something, It may be that its not forwarding you to the right place.

I am using the default theme and language, don't think there's a problem there.

The URL is the following:  http://mywebsite.com/smf/index.php?action=pm;sa=send
This is what I get when trying to send a PM.  Again, the PM does go through, but the above URL just resolves to a blank white screen after about 30 secs of loading.

Thanks for any help on this matter :)

Edit:  Actually, it tries to resolve to the above URL, but after about 30 sec of loading, it displays a blank white screen with the following URL:  http://mywebsite.com/smf/index.php?action=pm;sa=send2.   Somewhere, it added the number 2 to the word send.  No idea why or if that's what its suppose to do.

Do you have mail set to use SMTP or sendmail?  Are you sure that's working?
