Sweet , this is one cool looking theme.

A few ppl say it should be a stock theme with SMF but.

My only thought is the donation button is gone when
I load this them as well as other none stock buttons.
Infact its completly gone from the menu. I notice most themes dont seem to carry over the donation buttons etc. how can this be fixed
updated?
So for it to be a completely stock theme it should also interact as if
it was the stock one. Right?

But this isnt not to take away that this is a GREAt theme. But as a newbie here I wasnt sure why knowone else really addressed this?
Because it deservers great praise, but maybe its not quite ready for a
stock theme packaging?? Just a few thoughts.

Hoppy Easter >:-)

Hey, I appreciate the download (got it), but it's NOT working fine. I'm not the only one in this thread to have this exact problem. I wasn't the only one on the osCommerce forums to have the EXACT problem there either. Each and every time you've addressed the issue with "it's working fine"... NO IT'S NOT! Are you suggesting that we're all crazy?

Thanks again for the download.

Peace.

djw2, more than 150 000 downloads with only couple of problems like yours give me the right to tell that everything working fine.
Check your browser setting, direct linking is not allowed, so if your browser or download software use some redirect method, download will fail.

The real question is this:  Are you suggesting that all others are crazy?  :-\

v.good theme - just a note, i guess the problem with the download system is that a check is made on the referring header? So if your firewall etc strips out the header (as zone alarm pro can do for example) it won't work! All you need to do is adjust your firewall settings :)

Hi all,

I'm using the 7Dana theme in my new SMF forum at http://www.speedshots.net/tvwdra/forum and am trying to figure how how to center the banner ("smflogo.jpg") at the top of the page.

I've modified the index.template.php file in a few different ways, but have not quite been able to get the result that I'm looking for.

When I added the larger than default smflogo.jpg image, it caused the table width to expand to be the width of the image plus the dark red cell to the right of it. Ideally, I'd like to table width to be 800 pix, and/or have the smflogo.jpg image centered on the the red background.

If nothing else, I can make the smflogo.jpg wider (to 800 pix), and get rid of the dark red cell in the table, but need some help w/editing the dark red cell properties/position.

Here is the part of the index.template.php file that I've been modifying. If someone could help get rid of the top row of the table and use the banner all the way across, that would be cool too.

Quote
// The logo and the three info boxes.
   echo '
      <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5" border="0" align="center" width="100%" style="position: relative;">
         <tr>
            <td class="logo" valign="bottom" align="left" style="padding: 0px; white-space: nowrap;">';

   // This part is the logo and forum name.  You should be able to change this to whatever you want...
   echo '
               <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/smflogo.jpg" style="float: left;" alt="" />
               </td>';
   echo '
               <td class="logo" valign="bottom" align="right" style="padding: 5px; white-space: nowrap;">
               <span class="welcome">', $context[''], '</span>';

   echo '
            </td>
         </tr>
         <tr>
            <td colspan="2" valign="top" style="padding: 0px; white-space: nowrap;">';

   echo '
      <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0"  width="100%">
         <tr>
            <td class="navigation">

      <a href="#" onclick="shrinkHeader(!current_header); return false;"><img id="upshrink" src="', $settings['images_url'], '/', empty($options['collapse_header']) ? 'upshrink.gif' : 'upshrink2.gif', '" alt="*" title="', $txt['upshrink_description'], '" style="margin: 2px 0;" border="0" /></a><img id="upshrinkTemp" src="', $settings['images_url'], '/blank.gif" alt="" style="margin-right: 2ex;" />';

      // Show the menu here, according to the menu sub template.
      template_menu();

   echo '
   </td>
         </tr>
      </table>';

      echo '

         </tr>';

Thanks!

Hi Eric,

try this, replace this part of the index.template.php with this code:
Quote// The logo and the three info boxes.
   echo '
      <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="5" border="0" align="center" width="100%" style="position: relative;">
         <tr>
            <td colspan="2" class="logo" valign="bottom" align="center" style="padding: 0px; white-space: nowrap;">';
   // This part is the logo and forum name.  You should be able to change this to whatever you want...
   echo '
               <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/smflogo.jpg" alt="" />
               </td>';
   echo '
         </tr>
         <tr>
            <td colspan="2" valign="top" style="padding: 0px; white-space: nowrap;">';
   echo '
      <table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0"  width="100%">
         <tr>
            <td class="navigation">
      <a href="#" onclick="shrinkHeader(!current_header); return false;"><img id="upshrink" src="', $settings['images_url'], '/', empty($options['collapse_header']) ? 'upshrink.gif' : 'upshrink2.gif', '" alt="*" title="', $txt['upshrink_description'], '" style="margin: 2px 0;" border="0" /></a><img id="upshrinkTemp" src="', $settings['images_url'], '/blank.gif" alt="" style="margin-right: 2ex;" />';

      // Show the menu here, according to the menu sub template.
      template_menu();
   echo '
   </td>
         </tr>
      </table>';
      echo '
            </td>
         </tr>';

Any chance of this theme being updated for 1.1 Beta 3 Public? I would like to upgrade christianindieforums.com to b3p, but am using this theme for one board, so I can't really upgrade until this theme is updated.

It's working fine for me and with no errors on SMF 1.1.

The attachments do not work properly, also when you have a new member that needs registration approval, when you click on the you have X members waiting for approval thing by the welcome message, the link does not take you to the correct place to approve them. It takes you to the regcenter. Just small stuff.

Well, I don't know about the second problem you're having, but as far as the attachments are concerned, just delete Display.template.php and you should be fine.

There's a lot more to it than you may think. I'm currently working on updating a slightly modified version of this theme that I'm using at christianindieforums.com, and there are quite a few code additions/changes. Compare index.template.php from this theme with the one from the default theme in 1.1 Beta 3 Public and you'll see what I mean.

Are there any changes from your 1.05 theme to your 1.13b theme in the .css?  Could I upgrade your theme without losing any of my .css changes by saving the current one, and then overwriting it after upgrade?

I'm getting alot of these errors:

all over the place. I finally found out that this theme does not show the number of members in the KEY Stats area. This is where the error is coming from. It was fine before.

#bodyarea,.okvir{background-color:White;}
and add width value:
#bodyarea,.okvir{background-color:White; width:100%;}

Open index.template.php file and replace: <img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/smflogo.jpg" style="float: left;" alt="" />
with this: <a href="', $scripturl, '"><img src="', $settings['images_url'], '/smflogo.jpg" style="float:left; border:0;" alt="', $context['forum_name'], '" /></a>';

Hi  :)

Very great theme !!

But ... I've just one question because i want to change one thing and i dont know how to do ?

At the top (with the logos & the red bar), there are , in reality, 3 boxes (the box of the logo, an empty box and a box with the title of the forum). i would have just two cells (one with the logo & a second with text), so my question is : how ? (i know a little HTML but not enough in this case :/)

Tks

Hum yes :D It's me ;) There is just two cells ;)

The real problem is : the column of the logo is too large (it's more large than the logo) in opposition to the other column which is small. I would like to reduce the "logo column" at the limit of the logo :/ How can i do that ?

Thanks

Great looking theme!

I'm not overly familiar with SMF, or php in general, so I appoligze for what I'm guessing is a rather noob like question.
How would I replace the Forum Name on the left side of the header with an actual Forum Logo?

I know it requires modifying the index.template.php file, but with the various echo commands and what not I'm afraid I might mess something up.

Thanks in advance.

*Edit* - I got it... in my previous attempts I kept forgetting the  '  to end the echo and was getting a parsing error.

I had the same problem also with big avatars... a solution is to resize all the avatars  :P ,or to manually modify the theme to make it display 100% and not only on the center of the page.
(Found this here ;)).

Open Themes/7dana_smf_1/style.css add the following code:

HI I've just found SMF and 7dana, its great. I have a couple of questions on modifying the theme. I've searched this topic and cant find what I'm looking for. Please, bear in mind that I'm new to css and SMF so I might not use the correct tech language.

I would like to change the logo in the top left to my own - I will simply replace it with a new graphic. How do I remove the right side forum name - what file needs to be edited?

thanks

Thanks for replying to my message. Sorry I looked through the 10 pages of the topic - I did not think that message applied to my inquiry.

So If I copy that code it will the forum name appearing on the right hand side of the screen - the width of the forum will remain the same? Could you tell me what is the syntax for the place holder of the forum on the right side.

Zaja

I've read all of this thread, and while it has answered a lot of my questions there are still things that I would like to change.

I was able to change the color of thr red area to the right of the logo per your instructions in an earlier reply, but I am not sure how to change the bar on the bottom. The only other instance of that red hex code did not seem to change anthing when I tried to change it as well (I'm wanting to use Dark Blue #000066)

I'd also like to replace all instances of red text with the blue as well. (Forum titles, ect.)

Thank you for any help.

Edit: Using SMF 1.0.6

First of all, I have to say that this theme is the one I like the most at SMF. Professional, stylish and nice looking. The only aspect I didn't like of it is that it only takes a part of the screen width. Is it possible to make forum fit in the whole width of my browser? Many thanks for your time.

There is a version available for RC2 here: http://www.7dana.com/download/pafiledb.php?action=file&id=49

And in most cases themes for RC2 work without problems for RC3.

I just took the plunge and converted from 1.0.8 to R C 3 last night.  I am so happy that I can finally use this theme.  It is perfect for my art forum.

I am however having trouble with some of the features and MODs not working in it.  But will adjust until an upgraded theme comes out.

Thanks

Will this be available for 1.1 Final?   :)

I looked on his site and it doesn't say anything on there about an upgrade.  I would hate to have to stop using this theme.

Hmmm, am I mssing something? I checked the "Download Center :: Simple Machines Forum" at http://www.7dana.com/download/pafiledb.php?action=category&id=12 (http://www.7dana.com/download/pafiledb.php?action=category&id=12), but don't see anything specific to SMF 1.1 final.

Also, does anyone have a SMF 1.1 board setup with this theme? I'd like to get an idea of how it differs from the 1.0x version, so a "test" board would be even better.

Thanks!

You will not see it there, I updated the lastest version myself to 1.1.1 -- then TP converted it...it can be reversed from TP as-well, to a regular smf 1.1.1 version..
http://www.cripcan.com/tst/index.php?theme=34 ((Tp version that can be reversed..

Im using this theme but I got a few questions.  I want to remove my forum name from the top right.

Also since I have a large banner the News Box and Key Stats bring it over far so you have to scroll.  Anyidea on a fix for this, can I move those boxes down below or reduce the width so I dont have all that RED beside my top banner.

You can check it out:

Thanks

I probably wouldn't use Smf as forum, if I didn't see 7dana theme ..
Thanks Zaja ..

Plus, I agree with those who say "7dana should be the default theme." ..

Title: Adding side borders to 7dana and fixing the menu up....
Post by: brianjw on October 25, 2007, 04:05:15 PM
I am modifying the 7Dana theme to create a theme called Enhanced Warfare by clantemplates.com. I also got their permission stating you can modify it anyway you want, just keep their copyrights and I am. :)

I need to know how to add an outer border (of an image on the sides of the pages) like HTML Theme Here: http://www.brianjwilson.com/summertest1/ (this image: (http://www.gamerzgarage.com/summertest1/images/quik_06.jpg)) to 7dana's borders. I will attach index.template.php if needed.

Also on the menu it has spaces larger then the images and want it to look like the border is hugging the images (like summertest1 above). Screenshot: (http://www.gamerzgarage.com/screenshots/ewarfare.jpg) - Full Size: http://www.gamerzgarage.com/screenshots/ewarfare.jpg - (there is no padding, ive checked...)
again, i will attach index.template.php if needed... or you can just tell me how lol

If needed the url - http://www.gamerzgarage.com/index.php?theme=16

To install the theme, save the zip locally on your computer. Go to your smf websites admin panel and click Themes and Settings and where it says Upload on that page, put the zip there and click upload.
