Title: display problems
Post by: mattsiegman on August 04, 2003, 06:35:53 PM
I'm using Mozilla Firebird .6, Win 2k Pro, 1280x1024.

Half the time I get a blank white page on this site.

It appears that the page is actually getting pushed over.  The php and mysql logos are in the middle.  it looks like a missing </tr> or something is screwing the page up...

This is a known problem and has to do with the site not SMF... its the stupid ad in the corner... :@.

I'm really good at looking for old posts about the same thing ;)
thanks for the link... I'm not giving up Firebird though.... it has to be a bad code somewhere...

since we all use prety much the same browser and the same OS, it must be a problem with the code that all the other browsers catch (except Moz) :(

Whenever those google ads come up, it messes the page up.  Their javascript must be inserting some bad HTML into the page or something...

Alright, that didn't work, so its not google, its the page's HTML thats inserted to show the google ad...

If you turn of Javascript, Firebird works fine...  but turning off JAvascript doesn't seem to work until you close all the tabs except for one and reload...

Its not yer browser.  Its the HTML.

I already explained that the HTML of the site is not at fault... it is perfectly good XHTML.

Its google's HTML that it places with Javascript.  If you turn off javascript, the site works fine.

I give 435:1 odds Google isn't doing XHTML.
