Firstly, just want to say to Unknown and the team, SMF is absolutley brilliant. I'd been using phpbb for about 2 years when a friend of mine stumbled across your fantastic forum. Congratulations on an absolutley terriffic job!
Secondly, While its not a major bug, when you click on the question mark icon to bring up the related help page, any links that are in the help file dont open in a new window, they open in that tiny little help window, for example in the admin panel, when you click on ? next to 'Live from simple machines' it shows a link to this site in the new window, but it opens in the same window, and it cant be resized or anything. Like i said, not a huge bug, but all the same *l*
Also, i was wondering if anyone had written or was thinking of creating an auction package., I'd find this really usefull, but i wanted to check if anyone had written one, because if not, i would be interested in creating one.

As far as the "bug" - that shouldn't be too difficult to fix. For now, you can just hold down the SHIFT key when clicking links in those areas to open them in a new window...
I don't think anyone has made an auction mod yet. I'm not real sure what one of those would do, but it does sound interesting :)
I know someone was working on an auction/real world shop mod. I don't know if they wish to share. You probably mean something else, anyway.

My sister is going to do a 60km charity walk in aid of Breast Cancer in September, and one of the ideas from a forum member on my site was to run some auctions, so some kind of auction mod would be interesting for me too...

I got it to work error free under SMF 1.0.3, however some of the "cosmetic" features no longer functioned after upgrading to SMF 1.1 Beta 1.

I charge members $15 a month to sell their items. Keep in mind this is only a store, no auction functionality whatsoever.
This was my first PHP project, the mod is stable however the code is bad, just for the record,
I am not a programmer, I am an excellent copy and paster, but coding is something very new to me. Although my
Kung Fu PHP is stronger now than it was when I made the mod, some things are still beyond my knowledge such as pagination, preview and uploads.
The important features (purchasing via paypal) works well, that and lack of time is the reason why I haven't continued developing it.
What I will do this weekend is bundle up what I have and take it to the coding forum for whomever is interested in taking this mod to the next level.
Running large forums cost money, this mod could be useful for those who are trying to offset costs.

Oh boy, I stopped using this mod a long time ago, I had planned on rewriting this but never got around to it, but for all intents and purposes it did work flawlessly.
Now if you are looking for a paypal subscription mod, I highly recommend taking a look at Grudge's subscription mod (you'll have to do a search).
