Hello I'm using MyBB and I'm using some important mods in my forum now and I need to verify first if SMF has the same mods as well.

I'm looking for mods like.

Hey Kat hmm sorry I'm new to this things and not really a computer savvy. I'm confused.. is that a mod? or a little configuration on the program?

Have a look at this:

Configuring it can be a bit OMG! at first.

The mod has it's own forum, though. They're quite patient with us noobs, there. So, I feel sure they'll help you out.  :)

And once you get familiar with it, you can do some really neat things with it.  The name is SimplePortal, but it can also be very advanced, if you know how to use it to its full functionality.

the locking a specific thread to guest is a simple permission assigned to the user group, the threads you don't want guests to post in simple move to a member only part of the forum.
