Post by: wayneh on June 26, 2009, 11:31:21 AM
My Forum is DOWN!

I don't know why - can anyone help?

This is the message I get when I navigate to the forum:
QuoteWarning: Unexpected character in input: ''' (ASCII=39) state=1 in /home7/freewar1/public_html/forum/cache/data_425b1ad3bdbebe7c8c73779fe5182644-SMF-modSettings.php on line 1

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ':' in /home7/freewar1/public_html/forum/cache/data_425b1ad3bdbebe7c8c73779fe5182644-SMF-modSettings.php on line 1

And here is a link: http://www.freewareonly.net/forum

THANKS!

OK - I renamed the 'cache' folder, then created a new one.

It's working again - but I'd really like to know what happened so I can prevent it
from happening again....
Anyone?

The only thing I can think of that might cause this is you changed something that would update Settings.php, changed it back but it corrupted the cache. Creating a replacement folder would fix that.

Since the problem is solved I'm marking the topic as such.
