Simply move all files to the new directory where the domain is if you are still on the same hosting account.

Then use repair_settings.php to reset all file paths.

What is repair_settings.php? (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=663)

Some settings are not being shown because the MySQL connection information is incorrect.

The error tells the story.  Check the information for your MySQL database name, user, prefix and password.  These all have to be correct in order for the forum to connect to the database.

Please write the correct server name, name and password for MySQL in the repair_settings.php page, and save.
If you are certain it is the correct server name, name and password for MySQL, then contact your host and ask them about what is wrong with MySQL server.
Title: Re: change domain name..?
Post by: JimM on July 05, 2009, 12:02:48 AM
As Norv stated, just enter the correct information in repair_settings.  If after entering the information you have, you still receive a message then it would definitely be time to contact your host.

Title: Re: change domain name..?

Ah. But it says there too why it cannot save them: Settings.php cannot be written on the webserver.
You need to make it writable.
Please check the file's permissions: chmod it to 777, or 755 if that fails. (How do I chmod? / what is chmod? (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=477))

Then, run repair_settings.php again. Change again the names/passwords so that it's all correct. Then press "save settings".

yes sir it's working .. but now i get it this error

Critical Settings
These are the settings most likely to be screwing up your board, but try the things below (especially the path and URL ones) if these don't help. You can click on the recommendded value to use it.
Title: Re: change domain name..?
Post by: Norv on July 06, 2009, 10:28:17 AM
That's okay, it's no error, it's a warning to pay attention. Because with these settings right, your forum will function. With them wrong, it will not.
Please read them carefully and make sure they're correct (for your forum). Then save them.

ok sir  when i save ..  nothing happened  same page is retrain

Paths & URLs:
These are the paths and URLs to your SMF installation, and can cause big problems when they are wrong. Sorry, there are a lot of them.

and sir when i open my site link this massage is coming

Template Parse Error! It seems something has gone sour on the forum with the template system. This problem should only be temporary, so please come back later and try again. If you continue to see this message, please contact the administrator.

You can also try refreshing this page.
Title: Re: change domain name..?
Post by: Norv on July 06, 2009, 11:37:39 AM
When you save, it's okay if it shows the same page.

About template parse error: does it say anything else, like the name of a file, or the line number?

Please also tell: did you copy the files from the old host exactly how they were when the forum was working fine? Or did you make modifications in the forum files? For example, in index.template.php, or in others.

thanks for help sir yes i make modifications forum files .
Title: Re: change domain name..?

I'm afraid it would be better if you undo those modifications, then make them one by one. So that you see where the error appears, and correct it.

What database errors are there?
Title: Re: change domain name..?
Post by: DilSe on July 06, 2009, 04:03:21 PM
this error  sir

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ' 2, 2)' at line 3
File: /home/domin/public_html/Sources/MessageIndex.php
Line: 112

Note: It appears that your database may require an upgrade. Your forum's files are currently at version SMF 1.1.9, while your database is at version . The above error might possibly go away if you execute the latest version of upgrade.php.

This error is coming  now i fix it is good..  all mod. is coming but not working same like "shout box" and "Full Top 10 Stats" "Ultimate Profile" and more..
how do i can change about this problem..?

Title: Re: change domain name..?
Post by: Norv on July 07, 2009, 03:11:22 AM
I'm sorry, I don't see what the problem is. Is this the only error in the error log? The file MessageIndex.php is edited by mods, but I'm not sure what interferes with bad effect.
If nobody has a better idea, I would suggest you undo the modifications made that affect the file (like a mod about coloring links), uninstall them, then see if it works.
If it works, then install them again, one at the time, and tell all errors as they appear.

Perhaps, the backup wasn't restored completely?
Execute some of the Forum Maintenance (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?board=64.0;sort=subject) options

In the old database, select the SMFlog_search_subjects table, and from the Operations tab, empty it. (do not drop it)
Then, make a backup again, and try to restore it in the new database.

Please upload also the repair_settings.php script to your new forum folder, and run it from the browser. (What is repair_settings.php? (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=663))
Check all it says, and make sure you enter the settings of the new forum. Then, save them.

Please check out this documentation to make sure you may have done all steps:
How do I move my SMF board to a different host? (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=489)

Title: Re: change domain name..?
Post by: Norv on July 30, 2009, 09:10:58 AM
It looks like your site has been hacked, by a defacer team, on the old host/location. By copying everything to the new host, you copy the hacked files as well.

I strongly recommend to delete the old SMF files from the new host, and instead of them, upload on the new host the files from the standard 1.1.10 installation package. (without install.php and install1-1.sql, and Settings.php, Settings.bak.php).
Then, check the forum: you should have a clean forum, on which you should choose the default theme, for starters. Then you can install everything again.

Alternatively: you could replace only index.php from the new forum folder, with index.php from the installation package, but it's not obvious whether other files may be affected and could perhaps do more harm in the future.
I advise you replace everything, then start reinstalling theme and mods.
The database (all posts, members, etc) will not be affected by the replacement of files, check and you will see.

EDIT:
you should notify your host about the defacement. Usually such hackers teams use hosts' vulnerabilities to hack sites, so they may have their server compromised.

Please post the beginning of the backup file, here, until you get to the

/*!40103 SET TIME_ZONE=@OLD_TIME_ZONE */;

line.

EDIT: that, in case there are only ten lines or so, if there are more, then just post the first lines until you get to something about smf_attachments, anything about it (the first occurence of smf_attachments in the file). Please use your database prefix actually, instead of "smf_", for the name, so it's [your_prefix]attachments.

Please note that you main site is still hacked. I strongly recommend to delete the hacked files. They may contain code that allows the hacker to come back and mess your site...

As for the last link, it seems you only have boards, no topics, no messages. Did you restore the backup completely, or did you have some errors?
Is the backup file complete? (it should end with something like "----Done", if you made it from SMF's Admin > backup database).
