Title: Conversion Advice
Post by: mctaz on July 07, 2009, 11:41:54 PM
I don't know whether I should proceed with an attempt at converting an LDU 800 board/site to SMF.

I'm in the process of rebuilding a site for an organisation, they don't have an admin password for their board (previous website manager won't give it to them)
However I've downloaded their database as an sql file, but if I try converting/importing it into SMF I'm thinking I might not be able to administer it either as no doubt it will inherit permissions from the old board...

Am I right in this assumption?
Should I give up before I try?

You can use the "imported" dump and convert it to SMF. Once the conversion has finished you can restore your admin account:
I accidentally deleted my admin account, what do I do? (
