Title: YaBB conversion problem (Solved)
Post by: Col on April 08, 2005, 05:20:09 PM
Hi, I started a thread here: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=32042.msg243176#msg243176 about this; at the time I wasn't sure if it was a conversion problem or not. I've had litte response, and I think it must be a conversion problem after all. I installed a fresh YaBB forum with just one modification, and copied the data files to it. I've performed the conversion again from this new forum, with all forum modifications removed bar one that allows for more control over board and category permissions. I'm not sure if I can remove that one or not, and still have a functioning forum to perform the conversion. - I'm unsure if I can reverse that modification?

Anyway, I still get this: 'Invalid IP address. Note that only asterisks (*) are allowed as masks, e.g. 127.0.*.*' when I try to track member IPs. The IPs appear in the posts though, and this only happens with some members.

I need to get this functioning asap, as I really do need to transfer for real now.

Thanks.

Did you back up your MySQL Database? If you go ahead and back that up, try converting. If it doesnt work, then you can always have that backup for the YaBB

This was so simple, and not an error in the end. The tracking only starts once the member has logged in, and I had several members and moderators login for testing. I didn't out two and two together. :(

This should be included in any documention that might come about.

I'm just glad that it's resloved.
