Where's the bossy one? I have a smile with a whip on my forum.

I also have a ghost one although that one isn't a 3d version.

Nice smileys tho bud.

Thanks for the feedback TheListener.  Well, didn't do a ghost, whip and a bossy smile since these are not required for the contest.  But I suppose I could do these.  Though the ghost would be a little difficult since .gif format doesn't support semi-transparent pixels so would have to think of another way to pull it off.

Cheers :)

The smileys I was referring to previously are as attached.

cute smileys, but the contest says that smileys can not be bigger than 18x18 pixels.  Well, maybe I can do it with that size, but not so sure of it.  But will give it a go in a few.

Cheers :)

Hello, are you saying that the rolleyes smiley is posting on your forum as a smile smiley??  Which version of SMF are you using??  Have you changed the code for the smiley??  Perhaps you can post up your forum site where this is occurring and if you could give me temporary Admin rights, I can take a look at it and fix the problem for you?

Let me know, k?

Cheers :)

You have to import the folder called, solosmileys.  Have you done this already??  I can take a better look if you were to temporarily make me admin on your forum, I can fix this for you and/or see if there is a problem on my end.  If this is ok with you, PM me the admin info and the site link, k?

Cheers :)

I don't think I'd be willing to trust a stranger with my Admin username and password. I learn pretty qucik so if you could just post instructions I think I can manage.

Ok, no probs.  Just trying to help out as this would be the quickest way to determine the problem.  First I need to know What version of SMF you are using?

P.S. -> Never asked for your Admin Acct.
Title: Re: SoLoSMiLeYS

Ok, If you are using SMF 2.0.x version, you will go to Admin -> Forum -> Smileys and Message Icons -> Smiley Sets.  In here you should see within the URL column "your forum url/Smileys/solosmileys/..." and in the Name column, whatever name you gave the smileys upon installing the MOD which should have redirected you to the [New smiley Set] section after it installed, in which you should have gave it a name (SoLoSMiLeYS, or whatever), selected the solosmileys folder from the drop down menu, and placed a checkmark in Import smileys already in this directory.  And if you want this as your default smiley set, you can place a checkmark in "Default Smiley Set".  Than you should have clicked on the "Save Changes" button.

If you don't see, within the URL column your forum url/Smileys/solosmileys/... than you can click on the [New smiley Set] link within this area (Admin -> Forum -> Smileys and Message Icons -> Smiley Sets) and do what I have already mentioned above to add the smileys back into your forum.

If you do see this URL in there within the URL Column of the table, place a checkmark to the right of the Modify link and click the Delete Selected button to delete it.  Than click on the [New smiley Set] link and add it right back in making sure to give it a name (SoLoSMiLeYS, or whatever you prefer), select solosmileys from the drop down menu and place checkmark in Import smileys already in this directory and if you want to make it your default smiley set, place checkmark in Default Smiley Set and click Save Changes.

Let me know how this works for you.

Cheers :)

On the other hand, if you are using SMF 1.1.x version, I can't help you without seeing what your options are, for smileys, since I never ever had this SMF version installed!  So in this case you would be on your own.

Wow, thanks.  So this is happening on a default install of the smileys than??  Strange as it is named rolleyes.gif and shouldn't be doing this.  Thanks for making me aware of this :)

Here is what's happening. Its reading :) as smiley.gif and displays as smiley.gif. ::) however displays as :smiley.gif. It's not reading the first : so it looks like :(http://paragonsite.net/Smileys/solosmileys/smiley.gif)

Interesting, I uninstalled the package and reinstalled. It works fine on my test forum now. http://test.paragonsite.net

Ok, well glad you got it working correctly.  Probably was conflicting with a previous smiley set perhaps??  Well, let me know if you ever find out the root cause of the problem.  Will be installing an SMF 1.1.10 version to test out with this soon.

Thanks :)

Could be where I've installed a mod or smiley set in the past and uninstalled it. It is a test forum and once I test mods I uninstall them. I can't get it to reproduce so I'm sure it's nothing to worry about.

Did not work. Default smiley's are still there.

What exactly didn't work?  The default smiley's will still be there in the Smiley Sets section.  You may click on the Edit Smiley's link and check to make sure they are in there.  If not, in the drop down box on the upper right hand side of this section does it say SoLoSMiLeYS in there??  Or whatever name you gave it??  Also check your Settings within the Smileys and Message Icons and make sure the Default Smiley Set is set to SoLoSMiLeYS or whatever name you gave it.  Place a checkmark in Enable Customized Smileys and click the Save button.

Let me know how this goes, if there are any problem after this please include more details, otherwise I don't know what to say.  Bytheway, you never answered my question on what version of SMF you are using, however, I'm assumming you are using SMF 2.0.x.

Cheers :)
Title: SoLoSMiLeYS - 4th Most Popular SMF MOD
Post by: SoLoGHoST on September 11, 2009, 04:49:52 PM
Just visited the MOD Site Today and saw SoLoSMiLeYS in 4th Place in the list of the Most Popular Mods.  Just wanted to say that this really made me feel good and wanted to Thank You All for liking this smiley set and downloading it.  Will also be expanding it to include a bunch more smileys that can be used for other expressions that are not among the default expressions with SMF.

Cheers :)

If you look at the number of downloads it isn't the 4th most popular of all time.  That might just be this week or something.

Either way they are great!

Yeah, I know, the popularity of a MOD isn't based on that.  I would assume that the popularity is calculated from a formula based on the age of the mod and how many downloads altogether so it is more accurate.  Was up to the #2 spot and now slowly dropping.  In any case, very happy to see it get that far even if it does drop all the way down.

Cheers :)

Well, just to let you all know, I am working on several more smilies to fit into this set.  Angel, Afroman, and Police to name but 3.  The funny thing is, I have done like 5 different animated images of each smiley before I choose the one's that were in this set.  Also, just remembered that I did an animated lipsrsealed smiley, though I didn't like it much so I didn't add it to the set.  But if you guys are interested, I have it attached.

Cheers :)

P.S. -> Will be adding more Smileys to the set very soon and thanks again for liking my smileys.

Here's another smiley for an Afro, if anyone's interested, it's height is a bit bigger than the others at 18 pixels wide and 21 pixels high, so you can add it in manually if you'd like.

Cheers :)

I don't seem to be able to install this smilie set correctly.
I would like to replace the old default ones with this set. How do I go about doing that ?

OK I deleted it as it wasn't working but now the default ones are not working either.
Does anyone know of any similar looking smilies that are easy to install and really work?

In "edit smileys" under tooltip or description I get this notice......"Smiley not found in set(s): SoLoSMiLeYS1".

Any ideas anyone?

Best way to install this set is through the Smileys of the Moment area of the SMF Admin.  I know it works perfect if you install it that way.  I haven't tested the actual package in SMF 2.0 RC4 i.e., uploading it and installing it that way.
