Hi guys....
I'm using SMF version 1.1.10
all the bells and whistles are working like a charm and thank you smf community for this great FREE software....it's a lot to me.
my problem/isuue is...
that i cannot rearrange the topic order as i want... take a look at the pic..
i want to write tutorials and they will be like step1 step 2 step3
but the forum automatically places the new topics at the top.
at the end it would be like
topic 7
topic 6
topic 5
topic 4 etc...
is there a mod or a way to rearrange topics within a board??
Why not just write all those steps in one topic instead of spanning it across multiple topics? If you still need them in one separate topic for each step and will label it in order, you can try sorting the topic by subject instead of by date. Click on the subject link at top and it should sort it for you.
use this mod
it works GREAT
I wanted to sort the calendar posts in the DATE order, not
the order they were posted (as is the default)
so, I just gave each calendar post a subject that was numerically described
eg
10-07-2009

hey thanks a bunch! will try that mod now!
I get this error with my current SMF 1.1.10 forum software...
can i carry on??
look at pic
it is my limited experience that some of those errors are caused if you have other mods ad might be in conflict
each mod also has its own support thread
try asking in there
ps
getting those errors are NOT proof you cannot use the mod
maybe have to do parts by hand
thanks for the guide mate, I'll try posting on the support thread.

hi sshahnawaz,
I'm still up on this, and waiting for a fix on this,
if anyone could try this on a fresh smf install and let me know it, it'll be a lot
This mod requires manual installation. On the page of this mod, select your version of SMF and click parse. Now see the files and edit them as mentioned there. :)
The problem is most definitely that the mod is not meant for 1.1 - and I'm a bit surprised to see it even try to install to your forum. It should say it is not compatible.
thanks a lot guys. found anothermod which answers my problem.
topic solved.
