Title: Big problem
Post by: mcgovery on October 06, 2009, 01:32:14 PM
Hello there.

I am having a couple of problems!
I recently installed a twitter mod on my forums:

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=317943.0

I have tried asking the author for help but I get no response.

Basically what the mod does is when a forum member creates a new thread it instantly posts it to my twitter page.
The problem I am having is as soon as it is posted the ammount of guests on my forum shoots right up to around 30 "guests"

It also makes the topic count go through the roof.

I know for a fact that these aren't real people browsing because it is a relitively new forum but happens everytime.

Most of the guests IP addresses are very similar so I tried to ban them all but they keep coming back with different IP's.

Does anyone have any ideas to what I can do to stop this.

Thanks.

Dave

Disable the mod. Most of them are spam bots

Thats a shame!
Are there any other genuine twitter mods?
