i have now mybb 1.4 latest version but tryd to convert to smf 1.1.10 but got an eror can maybe one of you help and if it is needed by teamviewer? i have located the path where both forums are installed but it still won't work.
Hello there!
Sorry, I'm not much into using TeamViewer. However, please post the messages of the converter, including the complete error(s) here.
MyBulletinBoard 1.0 to SMF Converter is the header part but i tink it is also the version
and this is the error
This converter was unable to find SMF in the path you specified.
Please double check the path, and that it is already installed there.
Well, as it says, you need to install SMF first. Please make sure you install SMF. Then, copy the convert.php and the sql file available on this site's Downloads > Converters to that directory where SMF is. Then run convert.php and give it the path to your SMF installation, in the texbox requiring the path to SMF, and the path to MyBB installation, in the textbox requiring the path to MyBB.
Check out: Installing SMF (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?board=2.0;sort=subject)
Also make sure you see : Converting to SMF (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?board=4.0;sort=subject) for step-by-step instructions.
i got this error now but my host(brother) don't want to turn of this file open_basedir is there a way to bypass it or edit it in a safe way
What error is that?
Also, please tell exactly where is SMF installed, where is MyBB installed, and where is the convert.php file. (full paths)
this is the error
The converter detected that your host has open_basedir enabled on this server. Please ask your host to disable this setting or try moving the contents of your MyBulletinBoard 1.0 to the public html folder of your site.
this is the path of smf
/home/gameradio/domains/game-radio.nl/public_html/forum
the convert and sql file are in the same map
and here is mybb installed
/home/gameradio/domains/game-radio.nl/public_html/inc
Are you sure mybb is installed in a subfolder named "inc"? As I can see in my local installation, MyBB contains a subfolder named "inc", so perhaps it is installed in the parent directoryof it, that is, in /home/gameradio/domains/game-radio.nl/public_html instead?
Please make sure you use the correct paths. open_basedir restriction should not be a problem as long as both forums are installed in the web root (public_html) and I assume the basedir is exactly this directory.
the path /forum is smf and pubic_html is mybb but installed smf in a sub forum

Sorry, the database connection information used in the specified installation of SMF cannot access the installation of MyBulletinBoard 1.0. This may either mean that the installation doesn't exist, or that the MySQL account used does not have permissions to access it.
The error MySQL gave was: SELECT command denied to user 'gameradio_smf'@'localhost' for table 'users'
please check Common conversion errors. (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=146192.0)
The MySQL user from SMF (was specified during installation) must be granted with read access to the MyBB database.
didn't work but as my host is saying no time to help i wil just do it by the lod way and start over with the forum another question its a bit of topic is it posible to make more usertitles a kinda like this
clan leader
site-maker
clan founder
About conversion: please eventually along with the link provided by TE, search this board, the error you mention is extremely common and the fix is easy: just provide access for the SMF database user to the MyBB database, your host should know what that means.
About usertitles: if I understand correctly what you wish, you can do that by defining membergroups and setting each member to belong to that membergroup. Please check out:

It's your decision whether to use it or not. However, please note that I highly doubt that what your host says is the case, there is nothing in it that could be "not supported by the server", unless SMF itself wouldn't be.
