Title: RC2: British English UTF-8
Post by: Lester_ on November 12, 2009, 04:43:18 PM
Having done a small forum upgrade to RC2 and a language pack upgrade for the British English UTF-8 language pack, the forum admin is reporting that one file is not RC2.

(http://www.findachurch.co.uk/lester/smfbeutf8.gif)

The file is here:

Themes > languages > default > Modifications.english_british-utf8.php

... and even the copy I downloaded as part of the smf_2-0-rc2_english_british-utf8 - the last item on this page (http://download.simplemachines.org/?languages;lang=english_british) contains this code:

<?php
// Version: 2.0 RC1; Modifications

?>

After running Admin > Forum Maintenance > Database > Convert HTML-entities to UTF-8 characters all the UTF-8 characters look as though they are now displaying correctly, so I may not need to do anything - from the, "If it isn't broken, don't fix it," school of thinking.

Am I alright to ignore it?
If not, what should I do to fix it?
Is this something the programming team would like to know about?

As this file is blank by default (only used when mods add to it), there isn't a problem although I'll make sure it gets fixed so the error doesn't appear :)
