Author:
- NIBOGO

Features:
o Easily add all the Quotes that you want to reply using a new button right next the "Quote" Button.
o System based on Cookies (There are no DB Changes) so everything is smooth, light and pretty easy to use.
o Easily delete a quote from the Multi Quote clicking the button right next "Quote" (Yep the Add Multi Quote button is automatically replaced with this new button).
o Curve integration, looks great in Curve and you can use your own images just modifing the index.css file.
o I use all the power of SMF in this mod so I did not a lot of changes to the SMF Core System.
o The Quotes stored in the Cookies (This mod store the ID not all the messages so again it's a really light mod) are automatically added to the textarea in the New Reply window so you just need to mark the quotes that you want to reply and open the New Reply page.

User Requeriments:

o Cookies Enabled: As the Quotes are stored in the Cookies the user must have the Cookies enabled to make it work.
o Javascript Enabled: Right now the mod uses Javascript to Add Quotes, Remove Quotes and Insert Quotes so if you have disable you can't add quotes to the cookies.

My installation did nothing. It shows installed, installation showed no errors, but nothing on the board is changed. I set all forum software permissions to read/write and installed again, but no change.

Should be working in your Default theme
Title: Re: SMF Multi Quote
Post by: eolith on January 31, 2010, 01:44:56 PM
I am using the default theme, at least the one set to forum default, which is BlackRain v2. Does this mod only affect the original default theme that comes with smf?

yes, it modified the default Curve theme, it seems, but not the one I use.

U must manually modify the Display.template.php, index.template.php & post.template.php of your mod

Btw in the installation you can apply all the edits to other themes

So I can, but it shows test failed on index.css and displaytemplate.php.

I can just insert the code into the existing files? I use the "replace" line to replace the code listed with that in the xml file for my version (RC2), basically?

Hi, great mod, but I'm having a slight problem installing it on my server. During the test phase, I get an error in step 4 it says it's failed to replace /Themes/default/index.template.php. Any idea what's causing this? I'm running 2.0 RC2 with the following mods installed:

1.     Additional Home page Title | S-Ace     2.0
2.    Ignore User Button    1.0
3.    Contact Page    2.0
4. Image Quote Removal Package 1.1
5. The SMF File Management Tool 1.0.1
6.    Enhanced PM Popup    1.0.1
7.    Quote Source    1.4
8.    Profile Comments    2.0
9.    PM Attachments    1.4
10.    Inline Hover Spoiler    1.5
11.    Aeva ~ Auto-Embed Video & Audio    7.0
12.    MessagePreviewOnHover    1.7
13.    Favicon    1.3
14.    BoardHover Mod    1.5.3

Is there a way to cut the big gap more closer between "Quote, Multi quote and Remove quote?

Ok found it, had to add them manually because I upload a fresh index.css ::)

Anyway, where should it be edited to make them closer?
ul.quickbuttons li.mquote
{
background: url(../images/buttons/reply_sm.gif) no-repeat;
display: inline;
}

ul.quickbuttons li.mquote_remove
{
background: url(../images/buttons/mquote_remove.gif) no-repeat;
display: none;
}

UPDATE: Nevermind, adding the code then clear cache fixed it.

I just installed this on my 1.1.11 test forum, NIBOGO. It installs beautifully and generates no errors. :) I notice that it's much neater with nested quoting turned off, than with it on.

I was wondering if this is the mod that was discussed once before (when there was yet no such existing mod) that might allow for turning nested quotes off and still appease those who want them on?

I can't remember who it was who was talking about making such a mod, but I remember it was met with some enthusiasm because nested quotes can become a real pain, especially with careless posters who just don't bother to prune, when they post. The discussion was that it would be great to have a mod that gives some middle ground; doesn't restrict to just one quote, but provides for an allowed number of quotes. (I realize this one doesn't restrict, but it does make the poster more methodical about what to quote, which will cut down on thread clutter.)

This mod does nothing about the nested quotes it only provides an easier way to reply to a lot of quotes in one post

Hi,

I'm trying to install this mod on my forum with a non default theme

As per the manual instructions I edited the index.template.php file for my theme and replaced

';

with

<body '.((isset($context['current_action']) && ($context['current_action'] == 'post') && (isset($context['current_topic']))) ? 'onLoad="post_mquotes();"' : '').'>';

I get a template parse error about there being an unexpected < in my file.

Any thoughts?

You must be doing something wrong to avoid errors try to only replace

body

with:

Quotebody '.((isset($context['current_action']) && ($context['current_action'] == 'post') && (isset($context['current_topic']))) ? 'onLoad="post_mquotes();"' : '').'

All I do is add a // before the instance of
'; and then add
<body '.((isset($context['current_action']) && ($context['current_action'] == 'post') && (isset($context['current_topic']))) ? 'onLoad="post_mquotes();"' : '').'>';

To the line directly beneath and save the file. I get the parse error every time. I've checked the syntax several times now.

I'm on SMF 1.1.11

The MOd downloaded with no errors, and looks great. The problem is when multi-quoting ... the quotes don't get added into the post box separately. They look like this.

Is there something I missed.

The quote tags get broken ... for some reason, even when quoting one post, when I click the "quote" button, the cursor automatically starts inbetween the [/qu^ote] <---- where the arrow is. So, as you see, that's causing each quote in multi quote to get broken off like that.

I mean, the very last line in the box I put into code should have explained ...

[/quote]ote]ote]

I can duplicate that error plus this mod uses the same Insert Quote function used by SMF so in case that you have an error loading the quotes it's a bug with your SMF

Yes! Worked great first try on 2.0RC3. Thanks for a much, much-needed mod. Very useful.

The only issue (non-functionality related) that I have is that I don't get the icons next to the labels... what do I have to do? mquote_remove.gif is in default/images/buttons, but I don't see either that or the icon of the add multi-quote in the forum...

Thanks once more...

[EDIT] Ehm... it worked. For some reason the first couple of times I tried it they wouldn't show up, but now they do :)

If you can make it work with quick reply it'll be great. At the moment it isn't much of an advantage over the standard Post.template.php topic summary listing.

True, but if you supply a multi-quote button a lot of people will use it when they want lotsa quotes, then wonder why the quotes aren't appearing in the quick reply. :)

It would be better for all round idiot-proofing if this mod had the same behaviour as the standard quote: display quotes in the quick reply if that is open, otherwise default to Post.template.php.

My 2c. :)

Is there a way to edit the Text it displays? Instead of the long " Add Mluti-Quote " I was hoping to change it to just "Multi-Quote"

Themes/default/languages/Modifications.english.php:

$txt['multi_quote'] = 'Add Multi Quote';
$txt['multi_quote_remove'] = 'Remove Multi Quote';

Awesome mod. Most handy. Very needed. Default should have this on SMF. Good work ;)

Only one question or issue. Why does it make the page load lag ?? It lags for a few seconds (like 15) then posts and the quotes pop in the text box.

Because in the Post area this is the less important thing and the quotes are only loaded after all the rest of the page load succesfully

Yeah OK i kinda figured that but thought i would ask anyways. Plus with it being cookie ran so..

Not only that tho it just seems like it has slowed posting page down period. I'll keep a close eye on it for a bit and see what happens and if it stays slower with the full page on a post page

Thanks for the fast reply tho ;)

The quote tags get broken ... for some reason, even when quoting one post, when I click the "quote" button, the cursor automatically starts inbetween the [/qu^ote] <---- where the arrow is. So, as you see, that's causing each quote in multi quote to get broken off like that.

I mean, the very last line in the box I put into code should have explained ...

[/quote]ote]ote]

I can duplicate that error plus this mod uses the same Insert Quote function used by SMF so in case that you have an error loading the quotes it's a bug with your SMF

Hi, first at all thanks for this great script. Weve been waiting a long time for this. I run a big smf 1.11 forum with 500k posts. I can duplicate the error and confirm the bug. I think the majority of smf 1.1x users will have this problem. When quoting multiple posts the ouput looks like this:

*puzzled*

I have 1.1.11 and ours works beautifully. Am I misunderstanding hcfwesker about "clicking the quote" button? It was my understanding that the "Add Multi Quote" link is to be used instead of the "Quote" link, not in conjunction with it. I have nested quotes turned off and when my users want to quote more than one comment, they use only the "Add Multi Quote" link and don't touch the "Quote" link, at all. Our quotes look like this:

Perhaps we're doing it incorrectly? *grin* In any event, we leave the "Quote" link alone, unless we only want to quote one post, and use Multi-Quote for the rest.

EDIT: As far as the Quote tag being broken, we're not having that issue, so I'm curious to know why some 1.1.x versions do and some don't. :-\

I tested it with a clean new installation of smf 1.11 and this is what I get when deactivating nested quotes and quote from 4 different posts. Note: I used only the multi quote link.

With default, Michelangelo, or a custom theme?

(I'm only curious, because we use default and I'm wondering why one 1.1.11 forum would have this error and another one wouldn't.)

Mysql 4
Php5

Your forum default language is utf-8 (rather than just English)?

If so, did you make sure that your Modifications.english-utf8.php file has this mod's manual parsing? (Just pulling at straws.) :)

What php editor program are you using? But make sure to back the files before you edit them and you can revert to them in case something goes wrong.

Do you guy's mean how it's all bunched together when multi quoting and you have to find the end quotes to sperate them before you can actually reply to the each single quote ?? ??

I was just about to post something about that and see a way so there was breaks in between them so didnt have to manually do it. That's a pain.. Plus newbi's cant figure it out and still end up posting / quoting wrong then and text or there quote replies all messed up and mixed up together looking.

Thanks

Hello there!

This mod, if I can put it to work, will be of great help - nothing against the way that smf adds quotes via the "insert quote", but for bigger topics adding via cookie is better. and the quick-reply is not always activated by the users. however, so far Im getting empty cookies:

Strange. Because that leads to no quotes into the body. I thought it was a because of the empty cookies. I will try locally and see if this is a problem with the test installation I did on my server.

So I'm stumped...

I installed this mod (Running 2.0 RC4) with various themes and it works on the default theme and one other theme. However the rest of my themes it either has both "Add multi quote" and "remove multi quote" all the time or it doesn't show them at all. I went through each theme and made sure that the edits were done. Some of the themes don't have a display.template of their own..perhaps this is the issue for some reason? Any help would be appreciated.

Hey I found that the "Add Multi Quote" & "Remove Multi Quote" text were missing.

Then I went through the parse and found that the modification in the following file was missing.

/Themes/default/languages/Modifications.english.php

Find (at the end of the file):
?>

Add Before:
$txt['multi_quote'] = 'Add Multi Quote';
$txt['multi_quote_remove'] = 'Remove Multi Quote';

Please add it in the package.

Thanks for the great mod.

New version available, officially supporting SMF 2.0 RC4 and added two blank lines between each quote.

Hi
First, thank you for the great and useful mod
Second, can you help me with one little thing - i've used a SMF 1.1.12 and different theme. I've patched index.template.php in my used theme, and mod works, but there is no spaces between the quotes.
Can you show me the code which must to add 2 blank lines, as said in your release anounce ?

i'm using this mod on RC4, but my logs are flooded with these errors:
8: Undefined index: multi_quote_remove
File: /Themes/default/languages/index.english.php (main sub template - eval?)
Line: 435

8: Undefined index: multi_quote
File: /Themes/default/languages/index.english.php (main sub template - eval?)
Line: 434

any suggestions?

Hey I found that the "Add Multi Quote" & "Remove Multi Quote" text were missing.

Then I went through the parse and found that the modification in the following file was missing.

/Themes/default/languages/Modifications.english.php

Find (at the end of the file):
?>

Add Before:
$txt['multi_quote'] = 'Add Multi Quote';
$txt['multi_quote_remove'] = 'Remove Multi Quote';

Please add it in the package.

Thanks for the great mod.
thanks for that, solved my errors :)

For people who are experiencing error with the latest package, Obviously in the file "smf-2.x.xml" in line 124, the code </file> is missing.

So extract the file and then add the code </file> in line 124 in the file "smf-2.x.xml" and then install the mod

or else you can go ahead with the installation and then do the following edit.

/Themes/default/languages/Modifications.english.php

Find (at the end of the file):
?>

Add Before:
$txt['multi_quote'] = 'Add Multi Quote';
$txt['multi_quote_remove'] = 'Remove Multi Quote';

I've been patient, but so far, my experience with getting answers from SMF mod developers has been like pulling teeth. This is both frustrating and alarming. Does anyone have any idea as to why we are having this issue?

Hiya,

Just Installed this on my RC5 forum and I do not think its working as intended.

I have the "Add/Remove Multi Quote" buttons as expected but after selecting posts to quote using these and clicking reply nothing is pasted into the "New Reply Box" ?

Any Ideas why ??

Tested with Firefox 4.0.1 and IE8 and same result with both browsers.

I have manually gone through the code and cant find anything missing so far.

Edit : Thought it would be a good idea to attach my Post.template.php as well

Ups... this nice mod had been working for month with RC 5 (I implemented this mod in my test board also my main board, everything fine)

But both boards are now 2.0 Gold.
I did a quick check - it's not working with 2.0 anymore - and yes, I used the newest version from yesterday and I firstly reinstalled successfully the older version)

I know this is a nice feature mod, and it has been working on my SMf RC5 for awhile, but after upgrading to the latest version 1.1.3, and SMF 2.0, the mod stops working on both Internet explorer 9.0, and Firefox 5.0
Both browsers have cookies enable!
Again, people have pissed off the author, so I guess I just wait for luck.

okay, my mistake - "quick reply" was wrong - I meant the the normal box is open when I click on reply - nevertheless - in fact it doesn't work in that way (same here like forfun has written).

I've the multiquote buttons which I can select but by clicking the reply button the quoted text is not copied....

addition:
I manually checked each file which is modified by the installer - everything is there....
addition1: okay - just played too much - now my testforum is gone - will install it again - and the 1st mod I am going to install is then this one - i'll keep you informed...

... okay... Done! and... - I don't know how to say it.... - it works!

I did a complete new install of 2.0 Gold and used an empty database for that.
The first mod I installed was this one - it works. :)
Then I did a complete backup (used a backup of the main forum I created 2 days ago) and installed my 52 mods again (easy because every package is german-ready and needs just to be installed by the package manager.

but honestly - I wish someone could develop a "batch package installer" which could do the same I manaually did.... - it costs time to click every second to the next package to install it....

So, well done - multiquote is back - sorry for crying :)

I don't have the option to re-install everything, because my forum has been filled up with many mods, and I bet one, or some of them may cause this "error".
I have un-instaledl, and reinstaledl this mod many times, but no luck.
Oh well! I wish there is another mod that will add the quote to the quick reply instantly, someday! :)

Why? My forum is also full of mods. it's more a question of time - uploading is time consuming (my upload rate is worst, I need nearly half an hour for copying smf 2.0 gold on my webserver)

You only need a backup of your main forum - that means: files and the database (...you don't know... :) )

The install/recovery process is easy and this needs only minutes - installing all mods cost 30 min extra.

It's not a big deal... - ehm - did you know - this mod doesn't work in my main forum - seems like I've to upgrade it again :( - don't know why it doesn't work there...

For installation, the line in index.template.php has an echo missing.

// Output any remaining HTML headers. (from mods, maybe?)
echo $context['html_headers'];

echo '

<body '.((isset($context['current_action']) && ($context['current_action'] == 'post') && (isset($context['current_topic']))) ? 'onLoad="post_mquotes();"' : '').'>';
}

Where do I put the echo '?
Title: Re: SMF Multi Quote [Suppoting SMF 2.0 Final!]
Post by: MiY4Gi on July 12, 2011, 05:42:39 PM
Let me clarify.

When I install the mod, I get an error in the index.template.php file.

When I try to manually edit the file, I notice that where I'm supposed to replace:

echo '

';

with

echo '

<body '.((isset($context['current_action']) && ($context['current_action'] == 'post') && (isset($context['current_topic']))) ? 'onLoad="post_mquotes();"' : '').'>';

the echo ' is missing.

All I see is:

// Output any remaining HTML headers. (from mods, maybe?)
echo $context['html_headers'];

echo '

';
}

As you can see, there's no echo ' above /head to replace.

Any advice?

Forget your echo - just modify the smf-2.x.xml - in original it might exist like it is shown but the echo is gone because you installed maybe other mods....
Have a look in that file and search for "
" - then you see that above
is another line.
just copy the
and your <body...> line and modify the installer (smf-2.x.xml) and replace it - that is how it works.

Mine looks like that:
<file name="$themedir/index.template.php">
        <operation>
                <search position="replace">

';</search>
                        <add>

<body '.((isset($context['current_action']) && ($context['current_action'] == 'post') && (isset($context['current_topic']))) ? 'onLoad="post_mquotes();"' : '').'>';</add>
                </operation>
        </file>

I am having a issue with IE users being able to use the multi quote. Firefox and Chrome seem to be OK. I tested it out with cookies enabled and it still seems that users cannot multi quote.

I am new to building SMF forums so I am kinda lost on how to fix this.

you waited for what? or are you still waiting?
Please note that complaining on this matter like you did is not helpful - for you - and others.
Saying about you don't have a possibility reinstalling everyting because you forum is full of mods - not a resaon - I've nearly 70 mods installed.
Please try wampserver or xampp or whatever to test it local...

by the way - reinstalling everything is not a big thing - you just need a backup of your database, repair_settings.php and maybe a backup of some folders like attachments, avatars, gallery, maybe Smileys...

This is not a complain. it is an opinion, and you've missed the logical point, if you are open-minded.
My point is the problem is not from which browsers and/or the enable cookies option. The script itself has not taken over "whatever", which I don't know, in the SMF and other mods by itself.
Let put it in another logical way, it works before with older SMF and other mods, why not now!
Something has changed, and I rather don't use it than un-install and re-install many other mods. Just my opinion!
Anyone else can do whatever they want.
I hope you don't take it so offensive, as your script is free, but it doesn't mean people can't have opinion about it. Again, not a complain, just a logical opinion. :)

You have to copy the images to your other themes, i think.

copy these 2 images from Themes > default > images> buttons

mquote_remove.gif    AND  im_reply.gif

and place them in Themes >(name of theme) > images > buttons

Post by: danielwmoore on December 22, 2011, 02:55:46 PM
I'm using 2.0.1, and it worked fine for me. Just a minor alteration to update the versions it is compatible with, and it installed fine. Had to do some manual editing to get it to work and play nice with my custom themes, but that was easy, since I created the themes myself.

Nibogo, congratulations on this great mod. It is rare that I actually take the time to thank a mod maker (which is unfortunate), because I usually have to clean up code for a lot of other mods. I don't mean just making it work with my setup, I mean just plain ugly code. I usually take an idea, think, "That would be nice", then write my own code from scratch. As a result, I have very few "mods" installed on my board through the package manager, as I generally do all the code editing manually. Makes it harder to upgrade.

Thanks for making this easier.

I have a feature request on this, which I also don't generally do... I am currently using a mod that allows me to quote the selected text. Would it be possible for you to alter your mod to check if anything is selected in that current post, and, if so, copy only the selected portion, otherwise copy all? That would make this into the most useful mod of all time if it had that feature.

The only other thing I'd like to see this do is to also add the multiple quotes to a New Topic instead of New Reply only. There are occasions when one of our moderator staff may want to bring in several quotes from around the forum into our "staff only board" to discuss them. This would make that easier.

Thank you, I'm glad you like the mod, but unfortunately I ain't able to do it at the moment, and I don't know if that can be done easily as selected text would have to be stored in cookies and a custom function would be required to load the editor and add the text

and that is the Arabic Translation

Thanks!

For those having trouble installing to 2.0.x (I did this for 2.0.1 so can't speak for 2.0.2 at time of writing). My quick testing shows my install working as intended, although I might not have found all present glitches. YMMV if you use my advice below:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
See edits below if you have difficulty.

What I did:

- download package manually, extract to favourite folder on your PC.
- open "package-info.xml" in your editor of choice.
- find the line
<install for="2.0 RC2, 2.0 RC3, 2.0 RC4, 2.0 RC5, 2.0">

replace with
<install for="2.0 RC2, 2.0 RC3, 2.0 RC4, 2.0 RC5, 2.0, 2.0.1">

- repeat for the line with "uninstall" at the beginning.

- save file

- recompress folder (I made one with a new name for clarity)

- upload to pack manager on your server.
- mine showed 100% success on all files (except skipped lang)
- test in smf curve template -- should work fine

If using custom themes, you'll need to
a) make sure the two images referenced in hcfwesker's post about 10 up from this one are in place in the folder. My install worked without this step, but it looked funny.
b) mod your templates' index.css with the following (taken from the manual parse info page for 2.0 on the download page here at SMF):
ul.quickbuttons li.inline_mod_check
{
margin: 0 0 0 5px;
}

ul.quickbuttons li.mquote
{
background: url(../images/buttons/reply_sm.gif) no-repeat;
display: inline;
}

ul.quickbuttons li.mquote_remove
{
background: url(../images/buttons/mquote_remove.gif) no-repeat;
display: none;
}

Good luck to the newbies.

GREAT mod. Thanks OP for your time making/maintaining this.

@edit1: further testing in Curve on 2.0.1 works great, but it didn't parse into my cust theme as I thought it did at first. I guess it needs to be manually parsed into the theme files as applicable. I'm doing that next.

@edit2: looks like my custom theme had the index.template.php file NOT parsed. The only fix (for me) was to correct that file with the info given for manually parsing and reupp to the correct folder. Probably a good idea to go through all the affected files of a custom theme and see if they parsed. I have no idea why the pac manager looked to be ok. Anyways, fixed is good, and a verbose post here to (hopefully) help others.

@edit3: used my own advice and it works great in 2.0.2 default + custom theme -- didn't catch the "click to mod other themes" part in pac manager, d'oh! So some of what I wrote is redundant. Oh well, Great mod.

Title: Re: SMF Multi Quote [Suppoting SMF 2.0 Final!]
Post by: Arantor on February 28, 2013, 02:27:29 PM
Nope.

Let me explain what's going on. A mod package is simply a list of find-replace operations on the code, and inside the mod package, it says 'these are the instructions for <given version>'. Now, some mods list a range of versions, e.g. 2.0 - 2.0.99 to cover all 2.0 versions, while some only list specific versions.

There needs to be this feature so that a single package can support all the changes that might be required, e.g. if 1.1.x requires one set of code, 2.0 requires another and 2.0.1 onwards required another.

All you're doing is telling it to accept a different set of find/replace instructions.

I did the same and the installation is fine, but it still doesn't work. After selecting a couple of "add multi quote" click on "reply", it still shows an empty box.
How about yours?

Post by: Jumbobeef on March 01, 2013, 08:20:06 AM
It works for me. I get all the quotes selected in the reply box.

One question though: what will happen when I do the one-click upgrade to 2.0.5 when it comes out?
Title: Re: SMF Multi Quote [Suppoting SMF 2.0 Final!]
Post by: Arantor on March 01, 2013, 08:26:09 AM
Well, you'll need to use the 'revert' option in the 'advanced' area first (so it's using 2.0.4 again as the version to search for), but then it'll all just work as expected. A one-click upgrade is literally just another mod, it installs the same as any other.

forfun: sounds like you have a deeper problem that the author needs to address.

This is an excellent mod, unlike others I've had no difficulty with it at all until now. I think my issue started after the 2.07 SMF update. Multi-quote works, but seems to be arranging the quotes in a random order. Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Unfortunately I tried that, and while the buttons showed up (sometimes both add and remove at the same time!) it didn't actually quote anything. Add to that the fact that the people above me have stated that it quotes out of order and that spells Need Update.

Well, given his other mods and events, you can probably expect a 'premium' version in the next few months that you can have the privilege of paying for, then paying for support for when they don't work properly.

It's a nice mod, but it puts the quotes in the reply box in random order. I've been trying to fix it, but no success.

I figured that the problem lies here:
getXMLDocument(smf_prepareScriptUrl(smf_scripturl) + \'action=quotefast;quote=\' + messageid + \';xml;pb=', $context['post_box_name'], ';mode=\' + (oEditorHandle_', $context['post_box_name'], '.bRichTextEnabled ? 1 : 0), onDocReceived);
Quote is sent to be processed to PHP function in a correct order, but returns to JS function in incorrect. I could be wrong though, but it's my guess.

I'd love it to be fixed :-X

As long as I can remember this worked just fine the last time I tried, they weren't inserted in random order, they were added in the order you selected them. Could you try with another browser and see if the same happens?

Title: Re: SMF Multi Quote [Suppoting SMF 2.0 Final!]
Post by: asura88 on May 31, 2015, 02:59:27 AM
Ty for your reply Nibogo. It seems to be browser independent - I tried with Opera, Chrome, Firefox and IE.
And just to clear up - the order is not entirely random. The general order is correct, but if you add for example 5 quotes, there are almost always 1-2 quotes that are in wrong place. What is random is how it acts. I mean, if you quote same posts few times, sometimes the order can be correct, sometimes quote #2 and #3 can be in wrong place, sometimes #1 and #5 and so on... so there's no rule for it.

I honestly have no idea of what could be wrong. Maybe it's because quoting is done synchronized.

Mod modify Display.Template.php. Must find:

if (window.XMLHttpRequest)
showModifyButtons();

Replace for
if (window.XMLHttpRequest)
showModifyButtons();';

// Multi Quote Mod
if ($context['can_reply']){
echo '
function mquote(msg_id,remove){
if (!window.XMLHttpRequest)
return true;
var elementButton = "mquote_" + msg_id;
var elementButtonDelete = "mquote_remove_" + msg_id;
var exdate = new Date();
if (remove == "remove"){
            exdate.setDate(exdate.getDate()- 1);
document.getElementById(elementButton).style.display = "inline";
document.getElementById(elementButtonDelete).style.display = "none";
}
else{
exdate.setDate(exdate.getDate()+ 1);
document.getElementById(elementButton).style.display = "none";
document.getElementById(elementButtonDelete).style.display = "inline";
}
            document.cookie = "mquote" + msg_id + "=; expires="+exdate.toGMTString()+"; path=/";
}';
}
echo'

But I can't find that code

same for
$split_button = create_button('split.gif', 'smf251', 'smf251', 'align="middle"');
Replace for:
$split_button = create_button('split.gif', 'smf251', 'smf251', 'align="middle"');
$mquote_button = create_button('im_reply.gif', 'multi_quote', 'multi_quote', 'align="middle"');
$mquote_remove_button = create_button('mquote_remove.gif', 'multi_quote_remove', 'multi_quote_remove', 'align="middle"');

I try to edit this file and add the code but I don't know where to put this code.

I try it, but imposible to find any part of the code.
I supose the new versions of SMF change the code too much .
We must point that the mod:

o Added SMF 2.0 RC3 Support.

Last version support is 2.0 RC3. This is a big jump.
