Title: High CPU usage and how to fix it?
Post by: h78509 on February 04, 2010, 01:22:22 PM
I need help from some of the more experienced users.

I run a "max 70-80-users-online-at-the-same-time" forum I was forced to go from shared hosting to VPS because of high CPU usage. Here are my server status:
http://elementsforum.co.cc/status.php

I'm worried the CPU usage is still too high. Looking at that server status, is there something "wrong" with the forum? Is there something I could and should do to improve CPU?

I've done most of the things in that sticky thread over there. I don't have the APC yet, only the file based caching because my SMF doesn't find it on the server (I have sent a tiecket about it to my hosting provider).

Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you.

Make sure you specify a custom avatar directory, and try turning off the calendar.

Usually 50 to 100 users line is the max you can get away with on shared hosting.
