Title: phpBB2 in a server and SMF in a new one
Post by: Juan on May 20, 2005, 03:14:56 PM
Hey, people..

I need to convert a phpBB2 that's in one server to a SMF that's in a new one.

How can I do??

The old one address is http://nextzone.cjb.net/
The new one is http://www.nextzone.com.ar/

I downloaded the phpBB2 to SMF converter but I don't know if it works this way.

1. Create a directory at nextzone.cjb.net called "smf" and install SMF there.
2. Using the converter, convert phpBB to SMF there.
3. In phpMyAdmin, get a database dump of all the SMF tables (in the newest version of phpMyAdmin, click on the "Export" tab, select all of SMF's tables, and tell it to export structure and data, and also "Add DROP TABLE"). Save this file to your computer.
4. At the new server, go into phpMyAdmin, select the database that SMF is installed on and click the "SQL" tab.
5. Click "Browse..." and select the database dump that you saved in step 3.
6. Use repair_settings.php to fix the URLs and paths (What is repair_settings.php? (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=18096.0)).
