Hi tends to be an annoying problem that people who you ban from the forums just goto places like hidemyass.com
etc etc..
Well i have this site analyser thing that tells me all the websites that have links to my site and people have clicked
I noticed there is quiete alot of hits on proxy sites that people are using.
Is there anyway to block these sites so that people using them cannot gain access to the website at all.
Even better is there anyway to detect a proxy at all and refuse access?

you can use the proxy ip and prevent this ip from accessing your forum.
I think you can create some type of Ban rules in SMF based on the IP so you prevent users from using this IP.
Ban List -> add a new ban.
Hmm they would be using a new one each time..
My aim is to ban the website there using to gain access to the site..
so hidemyass.com will be refused no matter what proxy it decides to use..

Wow awsome... Just tested worked a treat.. That should stop them :)
I tried that mod, and it blocked me from accessing the forum from my corporate network. I had to RDP to my pc at home and disable the proxy blocker so that I could get back in from my office. :(
