Title: Language Error When Converting Mybb to SMF
Post by: crackajack on March 13, 2010, 06:30:38 PM
please help me there was an language error. i reinstalled it and same thing keep happening.

Says This:

A critical error has occurred.

This installer was unable to find the installer's language file or files. They should be found under:
/Themes/default/languages

In some cases, FTP clients do not properly upload files with this many folders. Please double check to make sure you have uploaded all the files in the distribution.

If that doesn't help, please make sure this install.php file is in the same place as the Themes folder.

If you continue to get this error message, feel free to look to us for support.

Hello, and sorry for the delay.
So, you were just installing SMF? What version of SMF?
Can you please try to make sure you do indeed what the message says: try uploading again the files. Please note that some FTP clients happen to drop files during transfer, and they might not say they did very obviously. For instance, if you're using FileZilla to upload the files, then please take a look at the end of the upload, to a tab on bottom of the page, called something like "failed transfers": if it lists there the files it failed, then please make sure you try again re-uploading those files.
