Otsikko: My forum now displays a totally blank index.php page now. Help!
Kirjoitti: sois - huhtikuu 08, 2010, 07:42:52 IP
I haven't messed with the settings, everything was working fine and now i'm getting a totally blank screen.

http<stupid link blocker>//www.lvgridiron.com/forum/index.php

Nothing on the source or anything.  I ran the repair_settings.php as well.  Nothing.

Any ideas?

In Firefox it tries to download the index.php file instead of interpreting it into html. Like the php engine isn't running.

Apache version   2.2.11 (Unix)
PHP version   5.2.9
MySQL version   5.0.81-community
Architecture   x86_64
Operating system   Linux

The main site (not the forum) works just fine.  It's all php.

I am so frustrated, this is so random with absolutely no feedback; this makes no sense.

I get the WSOD when I try your forum (from the Home Page, /forum, or /forum/index.php). Read my sig > FAQs > Blank Page/White Screen of Death and see if you can find any logged error reports about what happened.

This is very promising!  How do I get to this section of my website if I am getting the WSOD?:

Finally, your application (SMF, etc.) may have its own error log. In SMF, you go into the Admin section and ask to display the error log.

Open index.php
After
<?php
Add

ini_set("display_errors",1);

One of my tables was crashed.  Can I clear out the log_errors table?

Thanks all!

I have had the same problem since yesterday.
At error log: "File does not exist: /home/website/public_html/500.shtml"

May I know what is "WSOD"? Please help!
Thx!

White Screen Of Death -- a totally blank, white, screen shown instead of the page you want. This term is a spoof on the "Blue Screen of Death" frequently seen by Windows users.

Read my sig > FAQs > "Missing Support Files". You need some "Error pages" defined. Also read "500 (Internal Server) Errors", and deal with whatever is causing those errors.

If you can't bring up SMF at all, to get to the error log, you could read it directly in phpMyAdmin. Go to your SMF database and browse the smf_log_errors table ("messages" field).
