By the way Nikan, please post the link to your new mod's topic here as soon as it is approved. Thanks.  :)

This is the link to the support topic (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=381402.0) of my Highslide BBCode and Image Viewer mod.
Budun you are welcome to modify it as you like.

Thank you again Nikan. I think this is an excellent mod for flexible use of Highslide Image Viewer in SMF. :)

I remember that I was planning to add the option to use image captions. As far as I remember, I managed to make it work previously. I will post is as soon as possible.

thanks.

The main advantage is that you can selectively use Highslide Image Viewer for images you choose and let other image resizers (including the built-in image resizer of SMF) handle the rest. ;)

You are welcome dmacleo. So, if you want Highslide Image Viewer to handle an image, you use [hs][/hs] tags instead of img tags.

This is typical on a forum with a lot of mods installed/uninstalled.
Do a manually install of the mod and cleanup all the messy code your files may have.

This appears to be a nice alternative to Highslide 4 SMF (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2518), but why's there such a little feedback? I don't want to install a mod on an active forum when I have no idea of the risks involved. Has anyone who used this mod experienced any problems?
Title: Re: Highslide BBCode and Image Viewer

A lot of feedback means a lot of errors and corrections.
This mod use simple code for integrating the highslide script with smf and so the errors are rare.

I see. That's good news then. Do you perhaps know of any forums that use this mod so that I can see it in action?

Here (http://www.nikan.gr/index.php?topic=300.0) is the presentation of the mod with example picture compared to the integrated resize function of smf and here (http://www.nikan.gr/index.php?board=40.0) is some gallery pictures in some reviews.
(Next and Previous gallery picture with arrow keys, notice the expander box in the bottom-right corner)

Thanks for your interest.

Looks pretty good. How does it work though? Does it take a hotlinked full size image and create it's own "thumbnails" that a user can enlarge?

And what about the img tags? On my forum, smf 1.1.8, my hotlinked images open in a separate window (unlike the ones in the link you gave me). Is it also one of this mods features to make the img tags open the image on the same page, rather than in a new window? So then this mod changes the standard IMG tag as well as creates a new HS tag, right?

How it works -> http://highslide.com/

You should update your forum to latest -> http://download.simplemachines.org/

The img tag on my forum uses an internal function of smf2 to resize large images

My mod creates a new hs tag and uses the functions of highslide script to handle large images

Thank you for the wonderful mod!  I thought I'd let everybody know that when I updated my forum from 2.0 RC5 to 2.0 Gold, I had to reinstall all my mods.  This mod installed without issues and without emulation.  Hope this info helps someone!

Are you using the [hs] bbc codes?  Cause this mod doesn't work with the [img] bbc code......
Title: Re: Highslide BBCode and Image Viewer
Post by: MiY4Gi on June 30, 2011, 09:21:45 PM
I've been wondering. Isn't there a way to somehow disable/remove the [img] tag and replace it with the [hs] tag? Then any image with the [img] tag would use the highslider script and not the built-in SMF resizer.

Did you properly enclose the image with [img] bbcode tags? Did you set any alt text of the image?

JPG images work fine. Make sure that the images you have ARE jpg's. If you're not sure, then download the images, edit them in an image editor (Gimp or MS Paint) then save as jpg. Upload these new images, and check highslide once more.

is that what you were telling me to do? because it didn't work

Sorry, I was confusing this mod with HS4SMF. Anyway, to use this mod, you'll need to use [hs]your_image_url[/hs] in place of [img]your_image_url[/img]. If you're using the code an image host gave you, then you'll need to replace the [img] tags with [hs] tags.

Are you using the bbcode correctly? The img tags should be replaced by the hs tags. There should be no img tags around your image's url, only hs tags.

What's your website url?

my site is under dev... always in maintenance mode....

im using [hs width=size] image url [/hs]

i only got a hand tools cursor when i point my mouse over an image, and when i click it, it opens the direct link of the image.

Post by: MiY4Gi on September 12, 2011, 04:17:16 AM
So you're saying that you see the image, but the image doesn't use highslide?

Try [hs width=50px height 50px] image url [/hs].
Title: Re: Highslide BBCode and Image Viewer

This mod works exactly as the Insert Image button of SMF

Examples:
[hs width=300]http://domain.com/image.jpg[/hs]
or
[hs height=300]http://domain.com/image.jpg[/hs]
or
[hs width=300 height=300]http://domain.com/image.jpg[/hs]

Make sure when you install this mod, on different theme then SMF Default, will make the necessary changes in index.template.php

Post by: nikan on November 21, 2011, 06:20:28 AM
The new version of Highslide BBCode and Image Viewer 1.1 works on any theme, because the modification happens in the source files code and not on index.template.php of every theme.

Trouble with this mod...has been working and now it is acting up.

In the beginning ( I have been using this from 1.1.14 all the way to 2.02) when you clicked the HS button you would get [hs width=300 height=300][/hs]

now I seem to get only the first part of the code unless I enter the link first then hilight the link and click the HS button

I have manually checked the code and it is all entered correctly as well as uninstalled/deleted then uploaded and reinstalled the 1.1 version. This is happening on all my 2.02 forums in all themes.

Could you please tell me what I can do to make the code show entirely with just clicking on the button and not needing to write link then highlite link to get code to show up properly?

You are using the html editor, button 'Toggle View'.
Title: Re: Highslide BBCode and Image Viewer
Post by: DarkAngel612 on July 20, 2012, 06:48:11 PM
Hi nikan,

yes using html editor but have never had to toggle before either...not even when we first came to 2.02

Now are you ready for this.....

went in today and after about 2-3 weeks of it not behaving right....it is now doing what it should be doing....I can once again click the hs button to have the code entered into the window as it should be  without needing to toggle view. then I can insert the link to the image as usual.

no idea why it quit and no idea why it decided to work again but now it works as it should, for how long who knows...lol

of course this is on my Mac G4 still have to see if on FF in pc vista if it behaves again on all forums for 2.02 that we have including the test one.

The same thing happens with flash button, because the function to insert the tags in the editor is not implemented in javascript, which used for html editor.
Maybe tinyportal has any settings for the editor?
Title: Re: Highslide BBCode and Image Viewer
Post by: DarkAngel612 on July 21, 2012, 08:03:38 AM
weird thing is that it has worked all this time until a few weeks ago.

it is now not working again on my laptop running vista but it does on the macintosh with old OS...lo

oh well, I would ask tiny portal people but their editor is I think, admin end only. not sure.

thanks though, I will just hit the toggle button when on laptop

This looks like exactly what I need for about 4 of my websites/forums, but when I install it...nothing. No admin controls that I can find, no change to my test posts with the image, nothing. Am I missing something? I'm needing a mod that, when an image is attached in a post in my forum and the thumbnail clicked, will open into a larger image outside of my forum, preferably in a pop up window.
This IS the correct mod for this right?

This is the mod alrighty but it is not something that will automatically change the images in your posts for you.

at the time of posting the person that posts  needs to click on the bbc button...depending on version you have of this mod the button is either a "HS" or an image of a picture with a magnifying glass on it) then they will get the bbc code to insert the link for the image.

this will not be for attachments at the bottom or for inline attachments but just for inserting an image into the body of the post.

There's another mod: Highslide Image Viewer (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=1450)

I'm guessing the difference is that this mod images that're inserted in a post and the other is for attachments?

Title: Re: Highslide BBCode and Image Viewer
Post by: FemR on May 11, 2014, 10:55:59 AM
Thank you for the mod.

The default button code [hs width=300 height=300] creates square image thumbnails when both original image sides are bigger than, which of course skews the thumbnail proportions since most images are not square.

I realize you can remove either width or height parameter manually but most forum users do not.

Is there a way to fix the default button code so the thumbnails follow the original image proportions whilst checking the set thumbnail size in both axis?

You can remove either width or height attribute from the tag but not both.

In file Sources/Subs-Editor.php find for
'before' => '[hs width=300 height=300]',

Hi,

I can not find this as described on the above post. Which line should be on then?

Now I hope some help as I cannot find where to change the size of the image. There are currently [hs width = 300 height = 300] but want to change to this [hs width = 150 height = 200]

Where do you this? I have been looking now in vain, but do not find this. Mod works great otherwise.

Grateful for a response and as fully as possible. Is completely new to this script.

In file Sources/Subs-Editor.php and line #1416 find for
function create_control_richedit($editorOptions)

and on line #1586 you should find
'before' => '[hs width=300 height=300]',
