Title: Too many access to MySQL?
Post by: manolain on June 10, 2005, 05:16:37 PM
Hello everyone,

I was advised my by hosting company that my database and domain is being accessed a very high number of times a day. This is happening since I installed SMF. Does anyone know if this forum application is very demanding in terms of server requests?

Thanks very much

It shouldn't be.  Can you post information about how many posts you have, how many members you have online at once, and what the load averages are, generally?  What sort of hosting do you have (cpu, ram, etc.) and is it dedicated or shared, by how many clients?

If you access to http://www.cadizcf.com/index.php, although the language is Spanish, is very easy to get the information you are asking about.

The hosting is shared, but I cant tell you with how many.

My hosting company told me that about 41% of request to this server are to our domain.

Well, you have 70 people online right now.  That isn't all that much, but it may be more than your host can handle, if they don't really know what they're doing.
