Group Color in Posts and Profile
Version: 1.4
For SMF 2.0.2

This mod will add a group's color to the group name in posts and on profiles. You can change the color for each group in the membergroups section of the admin panel.

How it'll look
In a post:

In a profile:

Install
For most themes, install should go fine if the theme doesn't have a custom Profile.template and a Display.template. If your theme does contain custom versions of these files,
either try SMF's "Install in Other Themes" option or look at the modification file and try to edit the files yourself.

History
1.4 - Official support for 2.0.2 and fixed "group_color" error.
1.3 - Added support for RC5.
1.2 - Fixed SMF trying to get a group color for messages posted by guests which caused an error in the error log.
1.1 - Added color support for posting groups.
1.0 - Initial Release.

Shows up fine here in the default theme. Check that the group has a color hex set and make sure it has a "#" in front of the color hex. If it's correct, try clearing out your error log, going to a post with a person that is supposed to have a group color, and then check the error log for any errors.

The trick is to install the mod and select it to apply to all other theme as well during the installation. If you have not done that, most probably it won't shows in other theme except in the default. To solve it, uninstall it completely. Then reinstall and while installing do check so that the mod is install on other theme which is in your case, the core theme.

If it is so, then parse the mod at its download page and do it manually for the core theme that you have.

Uploaded a new version. Haven't tested it on a new install but it's been working for months on my production install of SMF. Let me know if there's anything wrong.

Working fine on both of my 2.0 RC5 boards with the default theme. Did the installer give any errors?

That's not the default theme for SMF. Your going to have to click the pencil and paper icon and make the edits manually. Do a search for a tutorial.

This is a nice option to have installed, but can see there is no more support on this mod

I installed it on 2.0.1 and have used it for a long time now and worked the treat
but I'm sick of seeing the error in my logs so today I removed this mod

this is the error on line 320
<li style="font-weight: bold; color: ',$message['member']['group_color'], ';">', $message['member']['group'], '</li>';
unknown command group_color

I know the command needs to be there otherwise the mod don't work but only way to stop the error in my logs was to remove it.
I will install again if ever updated..

Sorry I don't check this very often. I've had that bug fixed for a long time but never got around to actually uploading it. I have updated the mod now, should work with 2.0.2 and it fixes the error you noted.

Not even a please. No respect, is there? First using paid things without paying and now expecting someone to help you for free without even actually *asking*.

Because there is a generally laid back attitude around here. There's community snark from the old-timers but that's about it.
