Title: Chat Text Jumps While Typing
Post by: Cephyr13 on September 28, 2010, 08:58:30 AM
I'm on a friend's website that uses an SMF board. I'm using Internet Explorer 8. I start typing a post. As I get to where my text fills the chat text box and has to start scrolling down, every letter I type jumps the view of the text box up toward the top. My cursor doesn't move. It stays where I'm typing. But the view of the text I'm typing is at the top of the screen. If I hit one letter, the view of the chat box quickly jumps to the area where I typed that one letter, then back to the top again. So, if I type fast, there's this rapid view-switching that takes place with each letter I type.

Any ideas what causes this or how to fix it? Thanks!

1- try using search. This is a bug in IE8 which has been discussed about a gazillion times.

2- use compatability mode

3- this is not the board to request support.
