How do I get a chatroom on SMF?

You can use the Package Manager (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?board=49.0;sort=subject) to install a chatmod, I suppose.
Search the Mod Site (http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/) for 'chat' or 'shoutbox' and see if you can find anything that suits you. Make sure the mod you install is compatible with your version of SMF.
