Would you believe it.
Although I have downloaded and read the darn manual I can't remember which files require an upgrade.
I have numerous mods which obviously require uninstalling.
I would also be saving my forums index template due to some additions which were made.
Please help me keepmy hair 38 is too young for baldness.
have you read Upgrading SMF (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?board=3.0;sort=subject)?
With "numerous" mods, I would suggest you grab the large upgrade package - and overwrite all your files, then run the upgrade.php
That should make sure no mod installed code is left to mess things for you, and you can start reinstalling mods you still want to use and are still compatible.
Which files?
The ones in the main directory ie the main one?
all the files need to be uploaded to your host to do the update.
Brack1 I dont appreciate that you sent me a PM telling me to not support people. If you dont like my advice then dont follow it and see who else replies. Just because I got a low post count does not mean I dont know what I am talking about. I have helped several people with their issues by replying to their requests on this forum, and a few people that I helped start using SMF successfully for several years.
The advice by Illori is correct. All the files in the large upgrade package are supposed to be uploaded, and used to uverwrite all existing versions of the files included in the package.
With "Numerous mods", I'd wait for v2 to go final.
You'll only have to go through all that, again, when it does.
I restarted my test forum from RC3.
The NEW index.php file replaced the old.
At the bottom of the TEST forum the copyright stated 2.0 RC4
Went to the admin area.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function call_integration_hook() in /xxxxxxxx/public_html/bulldozer/index.php on line 342
THEREARE NO MODS INSTALLED.
Did you make sure you uploaded all the files in the upgrade package, and not just the index.php? Like Illori pointed out earlier, all the files are supposed to be replaced with fresh ones from the upgrade package - and then the upgrade.php ran.
Am I right in assuming the folders also have to be replaced?
what about the upgrade mysql files?
Everything goes in - files and folders, and only then run the upgrade.php :)
All done.
On the test forum at least.
Good, let us know if you need further assistance on this, or feel free to mark the topic solved if you have it all sorted already :)
Seems I spoke to soon.
Fatal error: Call to undefined function cachelanguage() in /home/xxxxxxxxx/Sources/Load.php on line 1895
// We possibly have a base theme directory.
if (!empty($settings['base_theme_dir']))
$language_directories[] = $settings['base_theme_dir'] . '/languages';
LINE 1895 // Remove any duplicates.
$language_directories = array_unique($language_directories);
foreach ($language_directories as $language_dir)
{
// Can't look in here... doesn't exist!
can you post your full Load.php please
On its way.
(If I remember to attach the darn file.)
hmm that file is a virgin file .... hmmm use your ftp client and manually delete all the files in the cache folder except for the index and .htaccess
Still getting the same error.
are you using the rc4 language files?
This Load.php file you attached does not call cacheLanguage(). Are you absolutely certain that you attached to this forum the file from your:
/home/xxxxxxxxx/Sources/ folder?
Not the file from the upgrade package or elsewhere on your computer.
