Hi i have just install SMP and in admin "configurations of the forum"/ "features and options"/"basic configurations of forum" when i choose save it says:
"Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.
Client sent malformed Host header"
It has very important options in this board like:
Allowing users to change their name visible or
Allow non-administrators to hide your online status
And i can´t change this options because of the error above...

Is there any problem at your hosting. ıt seems to my mod security blocks it.
It would help if you would let us know what version your are using as well as a link to your site. Also might be beneficial if you posted the link to a phpinfo.php sheet. (What is phpinfo.php? (http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=18250.0))
