As a newb,
I installed SMF into my root. I now want to move it to a new folder so that I can build a website with a link to the forum. What files and folders need to be moved?

using ftp client take a copy of all your forum files in root, then create a folder where you want forum to be, upload those files and run repair_settings.php to change the paths in your db :)

btw yes its that simple, and please do not delete your old forum until you have made sure everythig is working correctly
Then, since my root is public_html and SMF is all that I have installed, I should move everything in that folder to a new folder.
Right?
in public_html create a new folder say called forum and move all the files into there, then upload repair_settings.php and sort your forum paths :)
