Hey,
I'm trying to convert Mybb 1.6 to SMF 1.1.12 and downloaded the converter attached in the sticky thread.
When I run the converter, I get at step 1 a blank page. I don't see anything load, it's completely blank. I waited about ten minutes, then I reloaded the page. I see the loading icon of my mouse, but nothing else happens. I reload again and then I get a huge list of errors:

And beneath it the "Congratulations, you have successfully converted!" message (which is kinda ironic in this situation). Anyways, if I visit my SMF installation, I can see that the users have been successfully imported (in the admin panel). However, I don't see any boards, sub-boards or posts. In the Admin panel however, I can see parent boards. If I look at my database via phpmyadmin, I DO see posts and boards etc.
Any ideas what went wrong here? Thanks a lot in advance
maybe an error with the BINARY in mybb16_to_smf.sql
the 1.1x Converter file contains these line:
LEFT JOIN {$from_prefix}users AS ul ON (BINARY ul.username = t.lastposter)
you simply need to remove the word BINARY, then restart the converter from the beginning.

I did look at the common conversion error page but somehow none of the issues was applicable to mine.
I deleted the word "BINARY" from the sql-file and it seemed at first as if it had gotten worse. I kept getting blank pages, so I just typed in "step 2" manually. And voilà I see users and boards! It's not a perfect conversion, as the board visibility settings and avatars weren't imported but I'm guessing this is just a general issue.
In any case, whether it was your advice or some server vodoo... thanks a lot ;D
Hi, just a note to say removing the BINARY per the post above worked for me.
Before that, the users would all convert, then the page seemed to just hang and eventually I'd get a 500 server error.
I could tell via phpmyadmin that the users had converted, but nothing else.
I restarted after taking out the BINARY and all is well again - it's working its way through the posts as I type.
