Hi. I have a sitehost, keepalivehosting, and used fantastico to install smf. Apparently when I try to go to the admin page this shows up:
Connection Problems
Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later.
Tips?
can you open the file settings.php and verify that the username and password for your database is still correct in the file? if they are not there you will need to get that information and put in the file.
Yes, it is correct.
Please post the site url.

Yes, it is correct.
Please double check all the database information
use repair_settings.php? (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=663.0)
Okay. I have a question, what exactly are you trying to find? Ammm, anyways my mysql database asks for no password, and when I checked up settings.php, it was the password I set. MySql database secretma_smf1, as installed by fantastico
when you made the database, did you also create a user and allow that user all permissions?
edited to say: Fantastico on GoDaddy.
does godaddy use localhost?
Amm, yes, All privileges, that's same with the permissions right?
godaddy hosting account doesn't use localhost i believe.
they use xxxmysql49.secureserver.net or domain_name.db.xxxxxxx.hostedresource.com or something similar.
do you see something like that in your Settings.php?
as for privileges, Fantastico should of taken care of that for the db user.
I use keep alive hosting
$db_server = 'localhost';
I found this on the settings.php

my bad, don't know where i got godaddy.
how about creating a new user and pass, allow that user all permissions then edit the Settings.php with the new user name and pass.
make sure your paths are correct.
this will end up being something simple.
I did as you asked, but here is the result:

Ok, since this is getting very confusing i will suggest another installation
1 - Go to Fantisco CP install another SMF in domain.tld/testsmf with different db name.
2 - Check if you are able to browse this new installation. ( if Yes )
3 - Download this new installation's Settings.php and compare the server name used in the 1st one
Do post the info here as well ( not the db name / pass )

Sam happens...
Contact your host, probably a issue on their side
Or bypass fantastico altogether, do a manual install:

A manual install should be the first option. Fantastico installs every language file when most installations only need one or two and they are normally specific.
