Otsikko: Can there be more than one Administrator?
Kirjoitti: Robert A. Rosenberg - joulukuu 17, 2010, 03:40:55 IP
I have a situation where I would like more than one Administrator defined so that someone-else can see and perform those actions that are only accessible from the ADMIN tab. Is this possible and if so, how do I add Admin privileges to another member's record (or is my only option to supply my UID/PW to the other person so they can login as me)?

Thank You.

go to the users profile, account settings, and change their group to admin.
that gives that user all possible permissions.

even ruin your board so be careful whom you trust.

You can add as many users to the Administrator group as you'd like, but as said before, you want to be careful you can fully trust them with all permissions.  Also, in most communities, it's a bad idea to show forth too many admins.  On a good sized forum, I wouldn't have more than 3.  A smaller community I would stick to one or two.

Just my experience as a little suggestion.

I'd suggest one admin.

Give others admin powers, to whatever extent, yes.

There really should only be one root admin, though, for me.

That admin should be responsible for backing up, installing mods, themes, etc.
