When I install SMF, everything works alright, but the theme doesn't load. This error is at the top of the page linking to a non existing page:

The default theme's directory is wrong, please correct it by clicking this text.

Try running repair_settings.php. What is repair_settings.php? (http://docs.simplemachines.org/index.php?topic=663.0)
