Otsikko: problem upgrading smf 1.1.12 to 1.1.13
Kirjoitti: lucske - helmikuu 27, 2011, 11:18:00 AP
Hi,

When i try to upgrade i get a screen like the one you see in the attachement.
There seems to be something wrong with the Subs.php file ...
What can i do to fix it ?
It's recommendet not to perform the upgrade if there are any problems with these files.
So i didn't try to go on anyway.
I wouldn't like my forum to crash over this...

Hope anyone can help ?
If anyone can help me feel free to reply in english or dutch... ;-)
Thanks in advance...

Luc

Hi, if you have the Pretty URLs mod installed that's normal. And not serious. :)

If you have an older version of the mod installed, download the latest version, uninstall the old version. Update to 1.1.13 and then reinstall the Pretty URLs mod.

Hi,

There are no mods installed on my forum !
Just a dutch theme wich is standard for all members.
The rest is pretty much original...

Dang, so it's not that. ::)

Go ahead with the install of the patch and after that is done attach Subs.php to a post and I'll look into the missing change and correct that. Don't post the code but rather download and attach the file.

Hi,

I did the upgrade and it seems to have gone well.
As you asked i include here the Subs.php after the upgrade.
Thanks for your help...

This should take care it. I looks like a number of the past updates weren't made as there were a lot of changes compared to a default 1.1.13 file. So I'm suspecting that other changes from past updates weren't done completely to other files also.

Since you have no mods installed, I'd recommend that you download the large upgrade package and re-upload the files from the sources folder as well as the theme template files. This way you can be assured that you do have the latest version with all of the security fixes.

Do backup all of your files and database first.

Hi,

I replaced the Subs.php you edited and it shows 1.1.13 now.
So i think the problem is solved.
When i look into the detailed versionnumbers they are all up to date.
Only a file or 2 from the language-files are older versions.
I will look into that later.
Maybe i just have to reïnstall the language files to the proper directory.
Thank you very much for your help ;-)

Since you don't have mods installed, it's not major to just replace the files. However if the other files do appear to up to date. It might just of been Subs.php which missed an update. (1.1.10 it looks like).

Anyways, glad you got things sorted out. :)

This up-grade really messed me up ! My site was down for three days, and even though it's back up now I still have lots of problems and features that don't work.
  I did un-install it.
A big part of the problem comes in with Joomla. We have been using Joomla for many years. Now our web hosting company is telling us it's to outdated, and thier servers are not compatable.
Because of this I feel like I must go to another program. I could go with Joomla 1.5 but maybe there's another program out there I can use that would be easier to work with. Does anyone have any suggestions ?
I do want to keep my SMF and want programs compatable with it.
If I do find another program, will I be able to switch my current forums over to it ?
Thanks
