Is there a harder way for people to register?
One person registered and posted a bunch of filthy links.
I think I banned successfully.
It said he /she was in Russia.
I believe I may have quite a few other "registered members" who are up to no good.
Is there something I can do to stop this-- just for the registration process?
I don't want a difficult captcha , because those are hard for me to read and I want to make it easy on the legit members.
And I dont' want a captcha for when people post replies or topics-- just for registration.
Is there a mod for this or is there something I can do?
I can install a mod if it's easy--- but if I have to edit some code-- I wouldn't know where to begin.

Install some anti spam mods from the SMF database.
How do I install anti spam mods? I looked thru the mods, but couldn't find one for 1.1.1.13

Mods that is made for 1.1.12 will possibly work with 1.1.13 too.
But there is also mods for 1.1.13 also, for example this one should to the trick:
