this should be an easy thing to do but I've been searching without success for quite a while.
I would like a few images and links on top of every smf page.
I've used smfheader.txt but it's way too low on the page. Is there a way to put it on top with smfheader.txt or some other way?

My mindreading skills must've deserted me, there... ;)
actually I've installed that mod yesterday and many of other things and edits since then and I forgot about it.
so I didn't know where smfheader.txt came from (or even if it came with smf) when I was writing the message. that's why I wrote I used smfheader.txt instead of Global Headers and Footers mod... ;)
but is it supposed to put the header in the "middle" of the page or is my board just messed up?

is there another way to have a custom header and footer on every page?
global headers and footers mod breaks the preview and forum jump functions so I can't use that...
this seems really weird to me - such a basic function for a forum and so many problems :-\
You can always just force it in directly to the template.
Attach your index.template.php and the code you want included, and I'll insert the code for you...
i've tried that too but it broke the whole forum, i guess i did it wrong.
i'm attaching the header and footer txts (the header should be on the very top of the page, before anything else and footer on the bottom after everything else) and the default template - let's see if it works there first.

yeah we're halfway there :)
header is OK and there's no errors but the footer is not visible...
when i replace the script in the footer with ordinary text it becomes visible - maybe there are some problems with displaying javascript there?
i've just realized that you have removed a few lines from the footer and that is why it is not working.
but if i put that lines back, the forum stops working alltogether - just shows blank screen...
why is that?

If the global headers and footers mod does what you want, but breaks stuff, why not post in that mod's support topic and get it working?
I did that but there were no replies and I would be happy with any kind of solution, not just with that particular mod...
