Otsikko: From SMF 1.1.13 to ..?.. [solved]
Kirjoitti: Draklems - maaliskuu 18, 2011, 07:29:18 IP
I've no experience with SMF but managed over the last day to get 1.1.13 installed and bridged successfully to on my Joomla site using Jfusion. To be honest I'm so happy it's working I hate to mess with it but .. I think I need to upgrade before going live with our new forums. It's now visible right now so I want the best version before publishing it.

Yes I've backed up all my files and database, and I've got the latest php and Mysql running so requirements are not an issue.

My question, what should I upgrade to from my 1.1.13? I'm thinking SMF 2.0 RC2 .. not sure though. I'm a member at a board that runs that version and that's how I found SMF. So upgrading to that version is just my 'shot in the dark' guess.

I'm a little confused by the different upgrade packages on the site. I don't seem to see the 1.1.13 to 2.0 upgrade. I figure if I get to 2.0 I can more easily figure out where to go from there. Maybe RC2 or RC5, not sure what the best move is.

If someone could point out to me the best upgrade for me that would be freak'n awesome, but ANY assistance is greatly appreciated. I pretty much need the specific package name, because sometimes I can be a little dense  ;D

Hi there, welcome to SMCF

If you are to upgrade to 2.0 , then you should / must use the RC5 package. But before doing that you might want to check if Jfusion supports 2.0 RC5.

I would recommend you to wait till 2.0 Final is released. :)

Ok, then that's my plan. I'm waiting until 2.0, thanks for the advice.
